I would really love to see some pics of these dudes who all say they would look AIDSy at 6'1" <200.

I think more of it is the amount of muscle that would have to be lost to get to that point. For me to get into the middle of the "normal" range on that severely outdated chart, I'd have to lose a significant amount of muscle.

I mop the hospital's cafeteria.
I think waist circumference is better than BMI for labelling people at increased risk for obesity related diseases.

It says the most I should weigh is 186. I'd be a sack of bones.

75 million Americans total according to this, so closer to 25%.

Take into consideration the plethora of extreme fat asses who would be obese by any measure (BMI, Waist, Waist/Hip Ratio, Waist/Height Ration, BF%) and the % of effective misclassifications is probably higher.
When we look at someone and judge if they're overweight, we look at their gut, and we probably wouldn't be that great at guessing their actual weight. Turns out, gut diameter is a better measure anyway of health. So our eyeballs and science line up.

Divide your height by 2, that should be the circumference of your gut. If you're 6' tall, you should be no thicker than 36" around.

because thats the same chart used back in the 50's when people were shorter and skinnier.
i cant recall what the number was but when looking at those height vs weight charts, for them to be accurate, it was said you add 4"-5" to your height and that is what your correct weight should be.
and the chart you showed must be for women, because if a 5'7" man weighed 153 lbs he would be emaciated and need to go to the hospital

shitty chart!
6'0 - 190 at about 12-14% BF. Apparently I am obese!
Why would anybody use that chart is beyond me.

Those low end #s..some seem rather ridiculously low. <150 for 6'2". I didnt hit that in college running 70 miles a week...that being said, i need to avoid the 2 for 1 on breyers more than i do

and in my case it is. Need to lose about 10 lbs to get this spare tire off
Interesting how bodies work. I'm guessing you have a narrow frame and bone structure? I have pretty broad shoulders.
6'1" 195 lbs, and honestly looking better than ever. That 6 pack is threatening 8!
This thread literally proves that weight is irrelevant. Skeleton, bone size, density, muscle versus weigh composition, water weight etc, etc etc..

It is embarrassing our medical community still uses it.

My boy TJ Dillashaw would disagree with you. He is 5'7" and walks around at about 150 lbs.
I don't post pics but if someone did, you would not think he was emaciated....

Same. I'm actually just under 6' and 200 is ideal for me.

Post a pic. I'd love to see what your 6' 200 looks like, because it sounds like ~20ish extra lbs.
I'm slightly less than 6' and float around 180. I would like to lose about 5-10 more lbs
