Yeah but if you are gonna have a gun in your home, the responsible thing would be to learn how to properly use one if ever needed.

I know how to use it.

But it's locked up and unloaded. Ill never need it that way because it is all but inaccessible in an emergency situation.

I have 9.

2 handguns, 3 shot guns, 4 rifles. I can't believe how hard it is to find .22 ammunition. I have to order it on line.

So owning a gun would stop someone from breaking in?

If they know or think you won't be an easy target, yes.

And if they do you have the equalizer. The thing that will give a 90 lb woman a fighting chance. Or at least scare the intruder into running away.

No point in having a gun if you aren't prepared to use it.

How much do you want for yours?

I find it hard to believe there are actually people in the US that don't own a single firearm.

But they can just tell their rapist that they are calling the cops. That'll stop em.

Maybe they can play backgammon while they wait 20 minutes for the cops to get there. Perhaps make their attacker some tea to pass the time.

A self proclaimed hippie, transplanted to Boulder, CO, bragging about money.... HAHAHA. Typical Boulderite. Other than the scenery and breweries, Boulder sucks. Most liberal town in CO. It's like a teleport straight to California.

How would this all-knowing robber know whether or not I have a weapon prior to breaking in? The scenario you're proposing doesn't make sense.

And the SO doesn't even want a gun in the house. She hates guns, so she'd never use it either.

it's pretty easy to believe. Only about 1/3 of households have a gun.

What's sad is your husband was once a cop and now doesn't own a gun. That scares the shite out of me.

Why is that?

He's not anti-gun at all. But the guns he had as a cop...where those issued to him. After he left, spending his own money on guns just wasn't a priority to him.

Median home price is over 600k here. Just because the outdoor board oil field baws don't know how to manage their money and pay 10% interest on their side by sides doesn't mean they actually have money

I don't own one. I have thought about buying a handgun, but it hasn't been enough of a priority to actually go through with the requisite investment in time to research and money to buy it.

If you're going to have it, you need to know how to use it dumbass. It's called a gun and not a paperweight for a reason.

You sound like you really know how to take care of yourself

Well, not putting a "I'm with Hilllary" sign in the front yard would be a start...

Yeah having the flatirons, Eldo, and Boulder canyon within 10 minutes is horrible for a climber. Not to mention all the biking trails, bike paths, hotter women, cooler people, and general lack of Denver gapers. The real athletes are in Boulder
