We should go back to arranged to be honest. Marrying for love doesn't seem tk be working out for society.

I suppose you are right. We should all have meaningless and empty sex completely void of any connection at all.

Because you can't have a committed monogamous relationship without a piece of paper from the government ?

Muh, it's not real until I get that piece of paper from da gubment.

Oh kiss my arse. You’ve been going on and on about all your many ladies who fall over themselves to fellate you. Let’s not pretend you were on the side of monogamy.

When you're laying on your death bed with nobody around I'm sure you'll be thinking:

"I sure am glad I banged all those smoke shows and have nothing to show for it."

My wife and I have been married 42 years. Other than my savior, she is the best thing to ever happen to me. I have to pinch myself at times. Never thought of our marriage as a risk, it has been my greatest blessing.

I am sorry that you feel the way you do.

The Ole "when you're on your deathbed" argument.
So if I don't get married there won't be anyone that cares about me ?
I'm not married now and I have plenty of people that care about me, including a lot of women.

Besides, there is a 50 percent chance you will be divorced from this "loving wife" before you die.
If you don't divorce there is a 50 percent chance she dies before you.
More people die in their sleep than any other way, alone.
Or in accidents, or dropping dead of a heart/attack stroke, all alone.

The idea that you should spend 80 years living a life that you don't want because "muh, on your deathbed" seems like a waste of life.

That was more about the not wanting kids part.

And acting like it's some normal "alpha" trait amongst men. It's not at all, it's the opposite.

Divorce rate is a skewed statistic. If you both graduated college it falls to like 25% and those are mostly the people who would have screwed up the relationship even if they were not married.

If that 20% wants to stop getting married, good on the for realizing they are the problem. The other 5% are the legitimate statistic to me.

Among those I know/my community the divorce rate is likely right around 5%.

What a lot of married folks forget is that marriage requires a majority culture that is pro-marriage for it to continue on in the way our traditions intended. I know it's fun to talk about how "together" you are and dunk on the people that have struggled and take glee in their chaos, but don't think for a second that chaos won't become an issue for you or your children when they attempt to find partners and get married.

Hiding away in small communities is simply delaying the inevitable that the core of western culture is becoming increasingly terrible at marriage in the way that stabilizes society.

Every single man and woman is an eligible candidate to tantalize the breakup of a marriage.

Thinking you can mind to your own and your community and ignore the broader culture is the biggest issue is pretty stupid.

You act like marriage is some modern construct invented by women to trap men. Marriage is an important part of all cultures going back thousands of years. Modern divorce laws are what need to be amended, not marriage itself.

Prenups are not bullet proof by any means and they don’t really do anything just a speed bump for a determined woman.
