How long until Rex and Comus are on the clock?

I'm surprised they've lasted this long. Although they might fall under the category of rich and well connected enough to be untouchable

I dont know about any recent controversy, but I will say that REX is more open than any other old line organization.

People can and do gain membership in REX based on philanthropic activities in the community. It is a pretty active organization. Rex has African American members. Not sure if any of them ride.

Comus is not open at all.

Comus is already off the clock in any public way.
Rex has already dealt with some of this stuff, but may have to again.

Thing is, as much as we're told that the black politicians run New Orleans, the oldline, white "Uptown crowd" still holds a lot of power in the city. Latoya is not going after them. No viable black politicians will really go after them. Nagin kinda sorta did in one speech back in the day and look how he ended up: in jail.

The local media never touches them.

Truth is, much of their incompetence and apathy is what killed the city. Unlike their predecessors, who had national clout running a major global port city, these turkeys seem content maintaining their pitiful illusions that they actually matter to anyone outside New Orleans city limits while playing a big role in the city's downfall.

Inside Orleans Parish, though, they are still a powerful players. Tiny fish in a microscopic pond.

It would take outsiders who don't give a shite about them or social/political status within New Orleans. I would love to see it happen, frankly. Most of that has-been faction are part of the woke movement anyway. They've been given the rope to hang themselves with for several decades now. Time is ripe.

My bet is that one of the girls will take it down from the inside. One rich, liberal college girl or past debutante will have a guilty moment or want to get back at her parents somehow. Just my bet.

We already banned Rex but is there a liberal poster named Comus I don’t know about?

That ship sailed around the time of the oil boom when Houston capitalized in luring so much of the business in large part because of this silliness. There were certainly other factors as well, but this played some part.
