How long is too long?

You enter a fast-food facility at around 1pm to grab a bite. You stand alone at the counter, gazing up at the menu board while waiting for someone to take your order.
As you wait patiently, you begin to scope out the kitchen to see if someone has noticed you. Several minutes, say 4 minutes, has gone by and you hear someone announce to the kitchen staff if someone would please catch the gentleman at the counter.
You check your watch to see that you've been there just over 5 minutes and now it's a minute since the person announced for someone to get to you. And still, you are there alone...not being waited on.
Do you leave or do you wait? How long would you wait before either speaking up, yelling or angrily walk away?

Therein lies the problem. Anything after that is inconsequential.

I guess it kind of depends. Is there another fast food joint within half a mile that is somewhat a perfect substitute?
I don't each much fast food but my patience would be zero. I'd be gone in 30 seconds if no one came to take my order

Tell us you didn't go to a Chick-fil-A without actually telling us you did not go to a Chick-fil-A.

after 3 minutes I would be out the door

I actually timed the last time I visited a Burger King in my area because I noticed they were never busy nor had more than a couple of cars in the parking lot. I was trying to erase the memory of the first time I went there and they announced at the drive thru that they “ain’t got no burger meat”.
So, I walked in, there was one person waiting on their order, and 3 workers standing near the fries and the drive up window. There was no activity there. No one looked for a customer (me) and after 8 mins one glanced over but did not come to take the order. It got to 11 mins and I walked to the door, looked over my shoulder at them, and no one cared. Never went back for my 3rd ever trip there.

They're all pushing their apps so it wouldn't surprise me if this shitty in-person service is intentional from the top.

I'd give it about 3 minutes and walk out.

Pretty much the only thing fast food has going for it is the drive up window.
The food isn’t any cheaper than a normal restaurant, the quality is worse, and the service is worse.
If you aren’t using the drive up window then you are just better off going someone else.
