Gotta figure out how to steal some of the revenue first
Edit: Apparently I'm not the only person who knows how crooked Louisiana politicians work

Religious types think gambling is a sin. Even though it’s not mentioned in the Bible any more than playing the stock market is.

No kidding. They are so hypocritical

OP is obviously the only one who doesn't know.

Wanted to see what a sports book was like. Beer is much more expensive on location.

Mississippi runs sports betting ads on the radio in Louisiana now and at the end they remind you "sports betting is illegal in Louisiana".

I don't see the big deal. If you want to gamble away all your family's money you can go to Mississippi. If you want to smoke weed and become a burden to society you can go to Colorado. If you want to marry a gay man you can go to California.
I just want to use tax free guns to protect my marijuana crop.

If the casinos are smart, next season they'll have sports bars near the sports book. Get the winners to spend the money on wings and beer.

Cause the government knows what's best for you.

Well, if I remember right, the last time LA decided to expand their gambling, a two-term governor and other members of his family ended up in federal prison. Ima guess that the state probably wants to avoid any further bullshite associated with gambling.

That's exactly what Beau Rivage did.

And Louisiana Has established casinos. It makes absolutely no sense. And the argument by the evangelicals is idiocy to the core. But the biggest reason why.. The polticans are trying to come up with a fool proof plan to steal a % of the revenue.

And after stopping in all all the books in Biloxi, the Beau is the only one worth visiting. The rest are a complete joke of a setup. Basically just a bet counter with a couple TVs and little to no seating. The Beau has an amazing setup with couches and loads of tables

The best decision ever was giving Tillman Fertatta a license for the golden nugget in lake Charles. He now has an interest in keeping gambling illegal in Texas.
Sports gambling seems more benign than slots and other types of gambling. Forget the profits from sports gambling—Lake Charles/Shreveport would make so much money every football weekend and March madness from increases hotel rates, other forms of gambling losses from people who come into town for those events. If a crew of guys come in for March madness, they’re not just betting on sports, but also playing blackjack, poker, etc.

Agreed. The beer selection was pretty stellar as well and the prices weren’t any worse than drinking at The Chimes or The Bulldog.

Sports books don't really make much of the revenue in the casino business. Clarke County Nevada 2017 revenue generated - Slots 63.4% & Table games 32.6% or 96% of revenue. Sports Books 2.1%
