In a few short months we will be approaching the one year anniversary of the confederate statues being removed. I vividly remember a vast majority of this board stating that they were gonna boycott NOLA and never step foot in the city again.

Was also told by all the "OT" white collar executives that companies were preparing to flee the city, tourism was gonna dry up, conventions and trade shows would be moved to other parts of the country and that NOLA would look like a war zone when it was all said and done.

So have you stuck to your pledge and avoided the city?

I could be wrong but NOLA seems to be thriving to me with the convention center and hotels staying at capacity, tourism up, and to top it off the Saints are coming off a great season!

Who is ready for Mardi Gras?!

Yes and I tell anyone from out of state that asks about going there not to go there.

It's going well. And there's a lot of people boycotting New Orleans by dying there.

Haven't been in almost two years, I refuse to go. The gf goes a couple of times a year to visit friends. I bid her good luck when she pulls out of the driveway.

I seem to remember some ole baw heading to NOLA a few weeks ago.
Now he’s heading to Angola.

Bet he regrets that.

I've been checking in and looking at hotel rooms and tickets for various events this year and it seems as if the city is more popular than ever. They keep adding more international flights and 12 million or so visitors are expected this year.

Frank from Pineville won't be coming to get his hand grenade and eat at Bubba Gumps because he's still mad

As long as you stay vigilant around the drunken frat bros in the garden district, Nola is perfectly safe

Shocker. Turns out angry people reacting emotionally don’t back up their words with action.

Like all the people who claimed they would move out of the country if trump won. Or the people who claimed they would move out of the country if Obama won. Or the people who claimed they would move out of the country if.... and so on.

Same here. If I didn't have family there obligating me to visit once or twice a year, I wouldn't go to that 3rd world, smelly, economically dysfunctional shithole.

I never claimed to boycott the city.

I haven't been to New Orleans in many years.

New Orleans is a shithole.

One of the predictions seems to have panned out.

Best thing to come out of NOLA has been COPS - Mardi Gras edition.

As for me... been boycotting that shithole since before Katrina. Plenty of other places in the state of Louisiana where you can have a good time.

Wait, you periodically check hotel prices just to see if they are still being booked?

Holy Insecurity Batman!
