NOLA really is a shite hole. It's amazing what a difference 30 miles to the North makes, totally different world.

The only reason I stepped in New Orleans was to helped my wives group redo a house. Now some of my old woodworking tools were stolen in Gretna out of my truck. I guess my tools boycotted New Orleans.

I use to bring in 250 employees in three different groups to New Orleans from out of state to thank them for their work around Xmas and stay at the Hilton or Roservelt Hotel. I did not do it this year due to the travel agency we as a company use advised my partners and I of the high crime rate in the tourist areas and advised us that Orlando was safer. We chose Orlando which most of the employees enjoyed it and no one was shot, robbed, or killed.

Yes, staying on Disney was about the same cost as staying in New Orleans after flights, meals, meeting hall, and they threw in free park entrance passes for staying onsite.

They are, and I hope it works out, but I've been around long enough to know to be skeptical for the first couple of years after the announcement.

We did it for 10 yrs and 3 people were robbed in 2010, which for New Orleans was not bad. That group was younger single employees who stayed out later than the rest of the people. Living and being from Louisiana I was not surprised. Disney trip was easier and my partners felt safer for the group.
I was surprised I said nothing the travel agency we use due to discounts for all work related travel advised us against it. My partners asked me about it I said they might be right.

Bringing Disney into a New Orleans bashing thread? That’s next level trolling there, my friend. Well played.

Pretty big spread in quality between the Hilton and Roosevelt.

I celebrated by eating dinner there last night, although it was in an uptown neighborhood. Next time I’ll make sure to yell CSA on my way back to my car. I’m sure the neighbors would appreciate it.

Me and wife are here now. Went to Pelicans game last night, fairgrounds today, heading to dinner now. Probably head to harrahs after. Having a great time. Coming back in Feb for family day at the fairgrounds. Living an hour from Nola is one of the few redeeming qualities of living in Houma.

I have not stepped foot in new orleans since Lee was removed.

I will enter it next weekend for chewbachus, not spend a single penny in the city, and leave when the parade is finished.

deal with it

You sound like a guy that no one wants advice from or has miserable friends.

“Hey man, don’t goto that shite hole New Orleans. They took down them statues and blacks will shoot you. Instead check out Hammond, hit up the Chili’s—the southwest egg rolls are to die for”
