how does the mega millions work?
do the numbers have to match the exact order they are called out or do they just have to match what is called out?

The order they come out is random. They place them in numerical order to match the ticket. So, it will appear that you have them in the correct order, but most probably they didn't come out that way. You just need to match all the numbers.

As discussed in an earlier thread, having to get the order right would increase the odds from one in 175+ million to one in 21+ billion.
