A few months ago you were talking about this. There’s an online degree thread that has started with some good information. Learn SQL and Python, trust me on this.

LinkedIn set up your profile and start following topics that interest you or companies you would like to work for as well. Start looking and connecting with people you know or recruiters in your industry. It is an annoying site in that it is algorithm based, more you work your profile the higher visibility. You can control your who sees your profile etc like Facebook and IG. Indeed is a good one as well. Just take the time needed to set up your resume and profile.

Have you never heard of LinkedIn?

They work both ways.
I was contacted by a recruiter from LinkedIn last week and talked to them about what I do and what I would be looking for.

Can you use a grinder? Are you afraid to sweat? Do you have a vehicle? Willingness to learn how to install my product ~2 week curve. Can communicate with clients?

If you sign up and fill in the Linkedin questionaire properly you will start getting leads for companies that are looking for your skill set. May or may not be in the same industry.
To be perfectly honest friends, family, former work colleagues are still a great way to find new opportunities. Monster.com used to work reasonably well. You have to be very specific or you will get stuff from all over the U.S. that has nothing to do with your desire or skill set.

My wife (no pics) swears by the indeed site. When she was looking for a job she was getting texts and emails from potential employers about her resume.

I think you’re gonna have a hard time getting a recruiter to randomly contact some baw that works in an unrelated field to come work for them.
Figure out what you want to do, how your job/skills are applicable to other positions/firms, find those companies and start networking.

I laugh, but crawfish isn’t the correct shellfish. But I do have experience in commercial fishing. I haven’t done that in years though. If push came to shove though and there was a famine, I’m definitely trained in the arts of trapping.

That’s the reason I posted this thread asking questions. I don’t know of other jobs where they are applicable. I’m quite sure my skills can roll over, I’m just pointing out that I don’t know which jobs my experience would roll over.

Seriously.. Go to companies in your field and send it to them directly via email.
I know someone years ago who got a job faxing her resume out to a bunch of companies.
There are a lot of companies that don't use the typical job hiring sites. They will have jobs listed just on their site.. And even if they don't, still send a resume because you never know.

Are there any sites where headhunters could find you?
I’m told that they have been canceled.

You can post them and people will find you, mostly recruiters.
The other option would be to figure out where you want to move and find recruiters in that area

I’ve landed my last 2 jobs from Linked In, 3 years apart.
There is a lot that I don’t like about the platform, but it’s definitely useful in the job search.

Did you not read anything he posted? He's trying to branch out in a new field.
My experience with Indeed and the others is that they are not very useful for people trying to transfer their skills to a new field.
