We moved from Memphis to the furthest suburb still in Shelby County and my son's (grew up 10yrs in Memphis) perspective on people changed almost immediately with very little to no input from me. Kid literally saw it with his own eyes that we dont have to and shouldnt live like that. He "awoke" alright, just not in the way the white midtown/east memphis liberals would want him to

Just teach your kids to stay away from poor people. Not having poor friends will save them a lot of headaches and bad habits.

They don't have to. They'll have the means to be able to insulate themselves and their families if they so choose.

Almost 50 and still in the bubble. Why would you want to leave?

As a grandparent I have been given strict perimeters on what is proper to discuss with my grandchildren. And to say that I obey would not be correct. So, I am chastised often. Oh well.

If you have a daughter you can only mildly guide her.. if you give her the preacher approach she'll only want to rebel.

If you have a son you can be more blunt, but stair step it up.

With social media and technology it is a lot easier to teach kids about the culture. And the it's only a few bad apples excuse doesn't work when we can see 1000s of hours of evidence. The whole damn orchard is rotten.

For my kids, we just set standards for them and those around them. We talk about current events. Main thing is to be honest. You are doing them no favors pretending someone isn't who they show you to be.

Thats not the important question.

The bigger issue is what happens when the bubble shrinks too small to be sustainable?

That is the entire goal of the kings...to wittle away at the safety of isolated communities until everyone is equally at risk except themselves.

White flight doesn't work if there is nowhere safe to flee to.

Eventually the bubble dwellers are going to have to fight if they want to survive.

And they will have no ability to do so since they have been coddled.

public schools followed by LSU should pretty much do the trick. The capstone being an LSU graduation with airbrush shirts, airhorns, and cowbells. Penultimate cultural experience

Bad actors come in all colors. What exactly do you want to them to know?
