I have an incredibly diverse set of friends. They do not normally mix however. I usually have to hang out with one group then spend a different day hanging out with the other set.
This seems to happen more with my Louisiana friends than anywhere else I have lived. Especially the racial division.
My NY friends don't give a rip about your race or political beliefs, if you are a fun person then you are welcomed into the group.

Agree to disagree, but I think we should have reasons for everything we do, especially if we are holding a belief that disagrees with 95% of every man to ever live. If you are choosing to believe that the vast majority of mankind has been wrong, you best have some reasoning.
I don't necessarily disagree. I just don't have strong enough faith to claim there is a God.
Do I need a reason for that? No

To be fair, she also toes the line as a Buddhist and we share some mutual views regarding Eastern philosophy.
Well that is a little different than just being an atheist in my opinion.
Buddhism is not a religion, it can coexist with any religion (assuming the religion is ok with it) or any worldview really.

As my very devout Catholic grandmother used to say, "Just because everyone else is jumping off the Mississippi River bridge, doesn't mean you have to."
My reasoning for "disagreeing with 95% of every man to ever live," I see no evidence that would cause me to agree with them.
You seem to be of the opinion that having faith in God or gods is the human default. I disagree.

pretty much how we are. We don't really care, most of us are liberal atheists. But we dgaf. We will discuss it, but rationally. And civilly. I have yet to see a heated argument over it.

It's either a good person or a bad person. No need to get too caught up in the specifics.

maybe you should stop being such a tryhard and look up what "endeavor" actually means
Hey, I know what it means. Maybe you should open a history book or two. Maybe even look up what a joke means, while your at it. Its right next to religion.
Columbus should get another holiday for never stepping foot on north america and raping and killing everyone in sight. All in the name of god.
I can't handle you as a friend with fundamental differences. Good day, sir.

That's fine. I guess your life has no real meaning or purpose. You are simply a fluke. And the universe is here without cause. I myself can't wrap my head around that, but you go for it. Although I enjoy discussing the logic for the existence or non-existence of God, I myself wouldn't really see a point of life without one. I don't feel that anything in this world can fulfill my deepest desires. I don't feel that I am made for this world.

I agree with this statement but I couldn't be in a relationship with an atheist. That is too big of a fundamental difference for a true relationship. If y'all are just young and banging I get it and I could do that, but I could never have a serious relationship with her.
Agree with a this.
Political and social views I could get over easily. I couldn't marry a women who didn't actively believe in and practice faith in God.

If someone could prove to me that God didn't exist, I think I'd be tempted.

Lol, wow. So the only reason you keep breathing is your belief in a God, the existence of which is literally impossible to prove?
frick, man. You should definitely kill yourself. I mean that in the nicest way possible.

How do you determine if someone has faith in god? If they do not, do you proselytize them like the bible commands?

Agree 100%.
If someone proved to me beyond all doubt and certainty that God didn't exist I would begin raping and murdering everything in site until someone stopped me. Why not?

But you look at everything different than me. As a believer, I can see the beauty and evidence of God in everything. So I have so much to live for. It is my understanding that a nonbeliever sees all of that beauty and just throws it up to chance.
