Well. I’m no doctor, but...that doctor is wrong. Funny. But wrong.

That’s completely incorrect. The heart is muscle. Muscle improves in performance and longevity with exercise and proper use

But what about speeding up your heart rate for one hour a day, so that your resting heart rate the other 23 hours a day is lower than it would be?
e.g.
+50 beats/minute for 60 minutes = 3,000 (extra) beats
result
-5 beats/minute for 23 hours= 6,900 (less) beats

e.g.
+50 beats/minute for 60 minutes = 3,000 (extra) beats

-5 beats/minute for 23 hours= 6,900 (less) beats

30yrs old - “I need a nap”
50yrs old - “I didn’t even plan to nap, it just happened”
70yrs old - “last thing I remember I was checking my pulse, I must of passed out”

Mouse has a fast heartbeat, elephant has a slow heartbeat. Who lives longer? Something to this.

All mammals get about 1 billion heartbeats per lifetime. Those with faster metabolisms like the mouse use up their "allotment" far faster than mammals with slow metabolic rates, as with elephants.
