Yep, need a new pedi. Unless you called at night or something. Scrip for Augmentin is pretty "cookbook" simple for any bite.

Yeah....I'm a little late to this thread, but you're going to have to learn to deal with this. My son has never bitten anyone at school, but he's been bitten about 4 times. Kids are kids. I dont think ive gotten angry about it once. Just make sure hes okay and that it hasnt turned him aggressive. And he's bitten me once at ome when he was really pissed off at me, so I know he has it in him and it came out of nowhere. So I know one day I may get the call that my boy is biting. Try to be proactive, but your kid isn't going to go through all of life without having to deal with these very common things.

The day care needs to sequester the biter in a playpen. I would have gone ballistic if my child had been bitten twice.

What the frick? My boys (3 and 1-1/2) have both bitten and been bit at daycare. There is a clear biting policy but every teacher they have had said this is not abnormal behavior. They call us each time they've been bit and the few times they have bitten others.

Who the frick takes a kid to the ER for a bite?

Send a quick letter to the daycare requesting their liability insurance information.

OP, it honestly is extremely normal. If you have multiple kids there's a great chance one of them will do it sometime. The best thing you can do is make the teachers know you care but honestly don't ride them too much they can't do a whole lot. The kids will move on very quickly.

As others have said, it's amazing how you change from the first to 2nd kid. The first you worry about everything, the 2nd you are way more liberal.

There's nothing worse than complaining about a kid biting one week and then signing the letter stating your kid bit someone else the next. It happens all the time.

Your kid clearly isn't the Alpha in the room, sounds like this kid is just establishing their dominance.

Everytime my girl would go up a room in age, she would get in trouble for jacking with the other kids but thats just because she's a boss and likes to establish the pecking order early.

No trolling. We called the doctor and explained what the wound looked like. The skin had broken and there was bleeding and a lot of bruising. The doctor said take him to ER just to make sure that the area is cleaned thorough and there is no possibility of an infection because of all the bacteria that is in a mouth that could have transferred to the wound.

Urgent care would probably have been fine.

Give the baby to the Clintons. They know how to "take care of it".

Do you have children or any experience around children? Biting is something that they do. You aren't going to protect your children from every tiny problem of the world.

You chose the day care you send your kids. What did you make this decision on? Either you trust them to make the correct decisions while you are gone or not. Kids bite. Either trust that your day care is preventing that from happening as best as they can and handling it appropriate if it does happen or send them somewhere else or stay home.

What exactly did your wife "blow a gasket" over?

Sounds like you need a little more understanding, realitic expectations, and common sense and a little less entitlement.
