Your solution was to get jack stands and drink alcohol.

While drinking is always a great idea unless you’re in church (not illegal, just frowned upon), that and jack stands won’t raise up his car any higher

All I'm going to add is if you're getting ramps, get 4.

Having your car level is clutch.

In Texas, they run a special, every so often. But then again, they purchase oil in bulk.

I've had these same ones and they were perfect for my 2005 Toyota Sequioa(5000 lbs) for 7 yrs. They'll hold your Ford Explorer.
They were cheap as frick from walmart.

$12 a qt? I just bought a jug (5 qts) M1 5W30 for $24.97 at WallMarks. Where are you paying that much for M1?

Auto ramps.... ?

They aren't very expensive.

OP should hand in his man card, he had to have a woman explain how to do an oil change on his car.

Ramps are the easy answer UNLESS your vehicle requires you to turn the wheels to get to the oil filter behind the tire. Your car is not one of those.

They are definitely inflating the price big time.

Watch some YouTube videos….

Agree with the ramps and oil at Walmart is a lot cheaper than auto parts stores.

Put old oil back in the 5 qt jug and bring it back to Walmart next time when you buy oil again.

And while we are talking about oil, filters, Walmart and DIY'ers. Look inside the oil filter packaging box before you head to the register. A lesson learned here. Car is up on ramps, oil is drained, old filter off and when I open the filter box what do I see? Someone had slipped a nice shiny orange Fram filter inside a M1 oil filter box. I can laugh about it now but wasn't so funny at the time. Just another day at Walmart.
