Wife named her before we got her. Wish we would have waited. Pup wound up being wire haired and I thought “Wire” would have been a good name.

I have a border collie named Cal. In the kill shelter he was named Maverick. The rescue changed it to Cal. When we took him, we kept the rescue name.

Thurber (dachshund) may he Rest In Peace, was named after my favorite author James Thurber. Also my TD name.
Sister (dachshund) because we got her to be Thurber’s sister.
Sophie (chocolate lab) came to us already named.

Black lab named Griff for Griffyndor. We got another dog named Abby that we were going to name Luna but she already responded to Abby.

Luna would have been better because she’s a total space cadet. AKA idiot.

Bo after Bo Jackson. He's a hound mix. We called him BoBo when he was a puppy so he wouldn't get confused with the word "No".

Named my boy Koba after the crazy ape on planet of the apes. He was a wild child as a pup and the name fit him perfectly. Sadly he passed about a month ago, unexpectedly. He had a mass that ruptured. Miss him dearly.

Thank the Lord I named my pup Eddie O. I was certain it would be a longstanding durable name

I have a tan 60 lb GoldenDoodle. I didn’t really want a dog we are both mid 50’s but I really like him now. I took one look at him and named him Yogi. He’s almost a year old and really smart

My 3 year old daughter named him "Beaver". He was small and grey. No idea why she thought beavers were grey but she thought he looked like one and the name stuck. 18 years later and he's still here. I can't imagine he will be here a whole lot longer and I hate to think how devastated she is going to be. But for now he keeps chugging along.

We have a rescue lab mix and the shelter named him Artemis. You could tell he really bonded with the student volunteers, so we kept the name & call him Artie. We were living in the midwest when we got our boxer; we named her Roux.

My wife and I named our first beagle, Murphy, after Dale Murphy. Our next was Chipper; he's now 12. We got off the Atlanta Braves as a name source for the next one. He's Arnie, as in Arnold Palmer, and is 2 1/2.

His name was Luffie. He was named after a female Japanese cartoon character. Obviously that was not going to stand so we named him Louis XIV because it was a similar sounding name and the Sun King Was Associated with Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
