If I remember correctly I found my current position on Dice.
When I was laid off a while back, I was working with a headhunter. I did not like the experience. I went on more interviews where I sourced the opportunity myself. Not sure if it was the recruiter, my location, my field, or the fact that I was laid off but still being very selective about my next position.

Co-worker at my former job told me about an opening here because he was excited about it and was going to put in for it. I also applied and sent my resume. We both got called for interviews. Long story short, I'm here and he's still at the same place.

Every job I've had and currently have has been the result of networking, political connections and a determination that by moving I will be successful, grow from the gain in experience and responsibility and improve my financial standing at least 15-20% by making the move.
Joining associations and participating by volunteering helps tremendously. Volunteer for political campaigns. Make it known you are dependable, committed and talented. Join LinkedIn and start building a network. Post articles. Write a blog. Join Toastmasters and participate. Join the Jaycees and participate. Join Kiwanis and participate.
Get the picture? Building your personal network to build your success is a lot of work and commitment, but if you make good decisions it can pay off tremendously for the long haul.

Completely serious: met someone on the parade route on Mardi Gras day that knew my uncle. Shotgunned beers and gave him jello shots, and started shooting the shite. About an hour later he asks me what I do and I explain I'm still in school and about to graduate... he asks what my major is and it was the exact field he works in. He says "why don't you just come work for me?" Came in the next week for the "interview", where we just bull shited for another hour and he offered me my job haha.

Prior company I was working for found out my current company was opening an office nearby and asked me to look into it since it was direct competition.
I called the other company's HR group (national company) and happened to speak to someone very high up without realizing it.
A couple weeks later that person connected with me on LinkedIn and asked me if I wanted to help build the new office in this area. LOL
Bigger, better company that has a global presence. No brainer. Left the other company a few months later.
Fast forward three years later I've been promoted three times and love my job. For now anyway....

I graduated 4 years ago and got my job from networking while at LSU. Long story short, im ready for the next step. I'm thinking finding a good head hunter. Any luck with hiring one?
I had lunch with somebody I used to work with. Turned into a recruiting push about halfway through and it was too good to pass up.

Episcopal High School in BR.
Have a friend from Episcopal (LSUtoOmaha on here) that worked at my current company and asked if I was interested in a position. I interviewed and got it.
Once in this company, I got my most recent promotion because of another Episcopal grad who happened to recognize my last name (friends with my older siblings) and then helped me network with the correct people and get an interview.

I called the boss and told him to hire me and that I would take more than $345,000 a year if he so inclined.
He couldn't pass me up.

After finishing grad school, when on a seven interviews all acorss the country. Could not land a job. Took a job as a middle school teacher (I had a masters so I got temporary teaching certificate). Had dinner with my uncle who said his friend worked in the field I wanted to be. I called him up and a week later I got hired on. Been here since.

Budget cuts at my old job caused me to look elsewhere. Applied for three, was offered three, chose the one I have because of stability.
Miss the old job terribly though.

Got laid off from a damn good job because of covid, posted on facebook that I was having trouble finding a job paying similar money and one of my buddies pointed me in the right direction. Damn glad I did.
