If you have a current job that is paying the bills, contact a head hunter and let them do the heavy lifting. Pick and choose which interviews you want to take. At a minimum, it's a good indicator on the job market for your skills. And since it's free, you have nothing to lose.

Buddy called me up and said they could use me where he was.

I sent him my resume as we hadn't worked together in the last 5 years.

They called and offered me that day.

They found me. Told them no three times before the offer was worth it. 23 years later still here.

Craig's List ad for a skilled trade job for a contractor.

Worked my way up.

9 years later, I am my former boss's boss's boss.

The biggest pride I have in my current position is that it came about by zero nepotism, purely earned. Years of earning. Also, it has very little to do with my college degree.... I got into it initially through a skilled trade because my degree wasn't doing much for me at the time.

Was working on a project that was about to be over soon. Told a friend I would probably be laid off soon. About a week later he called me and said "dude, they hiring. Apply and I will go tell my manager about you". Sent my resume, went on interview.. Got job.

Yes, the project I was working, as a greeter at Wal Mart, came to an end so another greeter job at another Wal-Mart opened?

Actually I use to be your mom's gigolo.

I turned in my 2 week notice at my old job on a Monday morning and had a phone call with job offer before 2pm the same day without even sending a resume or application in.
