Like all my other jobs, someone approached me. I've never sent out a resume or had a formal job interview in my life.

Internship through college recruiting. Got a full time offer before my last day as an intern with a year of school left. Got a handful of other offers my last year and ended up going back. So far I love it.

Same for me on sending out a resume minus my first job out of college. The interviews are always a formality but I have done those

That's in the title but nobody had an actual engineering degree.

Field engineer just sounds good to clients I guess

Did a project for them through my old job, inquired about opportunities, was hired.

Similar. Worked on projects jointly with my new "firm". Was notified about job opening. Applied for it. My past experience put me in a unique position. My previous work with them put me over the top. I had quite a bit of leverage and was able to negotiate favorable terms (working remotely, etc.).

Same, but by an in-house recruiter. She does placement at the firm, and for other organizations. She first tried to place me with another organization but I wanted remote work and they didn't go for that. A couple months later, she came to me with an offer to work for her firm remotely.

No joking here....but I found about my profession that I am in now from TD. Had to go to PTEC school to get into my field of work. Now, I prop my feet up on a desk regularly and bitch about maintenance when they make me do work.

My boss from my previous job gave me a call with the proverbial offer I couldn't refuse. That was 26 years ago.

UT made us take a seminar prior to graduation date to make sure our resumes were up to standard.

I sent out about 25, Nokia responded 2 weeks later over phone. Asked if I wanted to do skype interview and I said hell no face to face. Drove to Dallas for the interview panel of 5 individuals. Had them all laughing within 8 minutes. Got an offer letter the next day.

Rest is history
