Pretty good, I imagine people are so caught up with internet and social media 90% of their day nowadays, the last thing they wanna do is fool with company. Not sure why back then we enjoyed it, like I said earlier, my family still does, but I realize many don't.

If I am not expecting anyone I DO NOT answer the door. My neighbor starting knocking on my door early one morning for some BS. I came out a couple of hours later and they were perplexed why I didn't answer. I just flat out told them...

We live in a historically registered neighborhood; i.e. we have a lot of old folks that live around us.

Multiple times we’ve watched on our Ring some random elderly man or woman come knock on our door at 10 AM on a random weekday and get visibly frustrated when we’re not home. Some people have to work.

9 out of 10 times when that happens its because they need you to help them do something instead of just paying someone to do it for them

That is the biggest pet peeve of mine. I hate when someone swings by without calling.

Yeah I can say that this is both completely understandable to be against and personally I just have that personality that loves when people I know stop by randomly. I dont have annoying family members or anything doing it but there isn’t anyone outside of my good friends that would ever pop in unannounced and I welcome the hell out of it, I’m usually pretty bored anyway.

Same at my office. I can’t fricking stand when salesman come to my office without calling. I’ve gotten to the point now I just lock the door

However if it’s a good friend and we’re just going to shoot the shite then I welcome it.

I have one way mirror glass in my office that looks out into the lobby though another large one way mirror window so I can always see who’s coming without them being able to see me.

That’s always fun. Receptionist calls and says “Mr. Skullhawk, Joe from xyz company is here for your 10:00 am meeting”

Ummm ok

Usually they say they left a message or sent an email saying they were coming by but if I didn’t confirm anything then we don’t have a meeting imo.

I was in bed once lights off and sensed someone in my house, woke up and saw a dark figure in my doorway that soon as I sat up he turned my lights on as I was reaching for my gun near my bed.

Friend of mine drunk as shite just walked into my house to say hey. I wasn’t happy

If I wanted to drink beer I’d already have it and already be drinking it.

My daughter let some Pentecostals or Jehovah Witnesses in one Saturday am when I was still asleep. She was 5-6 years old and knew better, but since they looked like a couple of grandparents with a bible she thought it’d be ok to welcome them.

Thankfully our alarm went off shortly after and scared me out of bed and the couple back to their car. 7:30 on a Saturday. Wth. She got a stern talking to.

It's up there with phone calls that could have been texts and meetings that could have been emails...

Back in the day i can remember my grand parents making fresh coffee about 4 in the afternoon just hoping somebody might drop by..... Course it happened everyday.... That was back before device's fricked up the world... People used to visit each other and actually talk.

Because it’s rude.

What if I’m sick? What if I’m napping? What if there’s an orgy in my living room? What if the house is messy? What if I’m about to leave and go somewhere?

It’s incredibly rude to drop by without being invited. The “old days” nostalgia doesn’t make it less rude.
