Extremely. They charge for water, cancel flights with zero notice, and rarely help at all to find you another flight. I once got stranded for several extra days in Vegas after a sudden cancellation

I've never had a bad experience on them.

Took a flight to Boston with them. As others have said, as long as you know what to expect with it being a cheaper flight. If the price makes sense it’s worth it IMO, and can always upgrade to exit row for a smaller fee.

Depends on where you are flying out of

Don't do it....it actually dangerous!....in many ways.
Plus they will nail you with a bunch of extra fees....
Go Delta or don't go at all!

Terrible airlines. I will never fly it again.

I’ve flown them a couple of times. No issues.

SMH. And people here lament about airline travel being overrun by the poors. This is why.

If you’re flying Spirit out of MSY or MIA, thank the TSA on your way through for confiscating your fellow passengers’ weapons on the way in so they can’t use them on each other while brawling at the gate.

I've flown them frequently. As long as the flight duration is less than 3 hours, your good. As stated, buy your bag charge early. You can bring a school bag sized backpack on at no charge.

I have flown Spirit several times.
Three words: Big Front Seat
I’m an average sized guy, and I find their standard (coach) slim line seats to be pretty uncomfortable on a flight over 60 minutes. The “Big Front Seats” are like First Class / Business Class seats.

I flew them from DFW to Orlando in the Fall of 2019.
Not 1 issue with anything!
It was $189.00 round trip flight including the seat selection costs.

Terrible. The terminal stinks as soon as you walk in. Picture a Burger King cashier convention.

Don’t fly Spirit.
I repeat, do not fly Spirit.

I flew Spirit once from Atlanta to Houston on my way home from the SEC Championship game in 2019.
Had no issues at all & it was well worth the extra few bucks for a bigger seat. It was still the cheapest flight option available by far.

....they took out a loan on a used Sopwith Camel. And it crashed on delivery.

2) always have a backup ticket on a later Southwest flight that you can cancel literally as the plane begins taking off. Just sitting on the tarmac does not ensure that flight won’t get cancelled.
This is fantastic advice and something I do as well.

Flew spirit into Destin in 2011 or so no problems except we were delayed for a few hours because computers were down.
Flew spirit to Vegas. No problems except we were supposed to leave at three but delayed until like 2Am No issues except I went to Casino lost all the money I won and some and blacked out. My bad.
Woke up on the flight home (thanks for allowing me to fly) and didn’t care that we overran the runway and ended in the grass.
Would fly again ! It was worth it !

Flown them a decent amount. Not that bad. Frontier is worse.

The costs add up quickly if you aren’t careful. If you can get a direct flight and only need a small backpack it can be worth flying them.
