Yes because "low income men" prioritize being there for their offspring and being good fathers.

Why get a surgery when you can just be a deadbeat dad like you were gonna do anyway? You'd have to pay them for the surgery, not just give it away for free.

I think it would be awesome for the government to offer any man or women’s under the age of 40 $2500 to do it.
If they have been a criminal and on welfare for a long period of time, bump it up to $5,000.

If you work for a living and have health insurance, it's basically free anyway. Insurance companies much rather pay for vasectomies than childbirth. I had a $20 copay and $18 left to meet my deductible. It cost me a lot more than $38 to get my dog neutered.

They should already send out birth control pills with every welfare check going to a female and condoms to every check going to a male.

But incentivizing vasectomies for only welfare/medicaid/food stamp recipients is the way to go. $10,000 per. We'd be saving a whole lot of money in the long run. Think about how many kids that would prevent from tax payers having to finance.

And they can't say it is racist because more white people are on government assistance.

quote:

Medicaid had more than 70 million beneficiaries in 2016, of whom 43 percent were white, 18 percent black, and 30 percent Hispanic. Of 43 million food stamp recipients that year, 36.2 percent were white, 25.6 percent black, 17.2 percent Hispanic and 15.5 percent unknown.

the biggest problem in this country is not that we have too many people from bad homes, but that we don't have enough people from good homes.

It's both.

Birth rates among all people in this country have declined for the past half century, but the decline has been most precipitous among the demos that people criticize.

If you want to do your part to correct whatever errors you see in this country, have more children. That's the most important thing you can do on an individual level.

Do you have any idea the toll three vasectomies takes on a body?

I heard the interview with the lady who started that organization. Super interesting. People claimed she was racist but they did not know is she is married to a black man .

First off, you'll get lots of people screaming racism.

Secondly, a fair number of teen girls who live in poverty want kids. They aren't doing it because their teen boyfriend is all that good in the sack, they just want to get pregnant.

because they live in an impoverished area where teen pregnancy is normalized and sometimes promoted by their mother. Doesn't make it a good idea for anyone.

And your point? Let them want a baby all they want to but if the guy has had a free vasectomy because he doesn't want a child there will be no child.

Since the guy would likely be a teen, he likely hasn't had a vasectomy. I very much doubt anyone would support vasectomies for males under 18.

ETA: also, you will likely be in a "poverty" bracket until you have a good job. That is going to be about 22-24 for most folks.

I didn't know she was married to a black guy, but I heard her on the radio once. She presented a very compelling case about these drug addicted women who neither wanted or were able to care for an infant. It was all voluntary. It made perfect sense to me.

However, the counter argument was that by offering $500 to drug addicts, you were basically tempting them to feed their addiction. And, of course, the standard default argument of racism.

Not just vasectomies. Tube tying. Low-Income Tax credit for volunteers.

It is a much better plan than government funded abortions.

This will never happen. No one is going to punish an infant because their mother and father made a poor decision.

they're still going to make poor decisions, but they're just going to use your money to do it with.

We are long overdue for the payment of ball-removal, 2,500 for a testicle and 5K for both would help population downsize

This is my serious reply. I am not sure if a lot of low income men are really that opposed to having kids. Low income men are not likely to have a steady job so they are not paying child support. In some instances there is some pride in having a lot of kids. If it were offered to all men, the majority of men who would actually take advantage of a free vasectomy would probably be middle class men.. Men who want to make sure they don't have any more kids, because kids are not cheap.

The males definitely do not want a whole bunch of kids they don't want to have to deal with all the different baby mamas.
