Whats the OT's thoughts? I bet a lot of low income men who don't want kids would line up for this.

Absolutely. Just gotta make sure the process is understood as far as: no it doesn't make you not a man, it doesn't prevent STD's, etc. It's just a good way to avoid baby mama drama.

I mean, if killing babies in-womb is an acceptable way to do things, why not a quick snippet?

you want to break the poverty cycle, announce immediate freeze on government benefit increases after 1 child.

you want to have 12 kids, tax payers aint feeding you or paying your rent. go get a job because you arent being paid to not work and have babies all day while your man sells drugs

Won’t work- if you have one male with unlimited ammo out there the whole herd will become pregnant. Have to address the female side of the equation predominately.

This will never happen. No one is going to punish an infant because their mother and father made a poor decision.

No, but pay for a vasectomy would definitely draw numbers. $1000 to all volunteers.

I prefer prison terms for people who become parents for children they can't afford.

Nope.

Many people in poverty make bad decisions. They're not going to suddenly start getting vasectomys.

However, wealthier people will probably take that deal, leading to an even lower birth rate among wealthy couples, which would be disastrous.

I've been saying it for a while, but the biggest problem in this country is not that we have too many people from bad homes, but that we don't have enough people from good homes.

About 20 years ago, there was a private organization in Orange County, CA that was offering a free tubal ligation AND $500 to local women. They had a billboard advertising the offer on the 57 Freeway in Anaheim, within sight of Disneyland.

There were some stipulations relative to drug abuse, but I don't remember the particulars. It was something like if you had been arrested for drugs or found guilty of a drug offense you qualified for the offer. Of course, it blew up into a big stink. TheACLLU, or whoever, was screaming that it was a thinly veiled eugenics program (which it sort of was) targeted at minorities (which it wasn't). There was a big drug problem in Anaheim at the time, so they put the billboard there to reach that target market, but it got a lot of people worked up. I thought it was a great idea.

But that's the point, the idea is to stop people who make poor decisions from having kids.

Honestly the govt could compensate each person that does this, as it would be cheaper than getting on the public dole.

NO. You'd have to offer free vasectomy's with a side of a big screen TV and a free phone. COME ON MAN

See I disagree a lot of times the women look at the child as an additional paycheck from the government. While men on the other hand often don't want to be a baby daddy. Just watch Jerry/Maury those guys freak out when they find out they are not the father.

Don't make them free.

Incentivize them. Offer $10,000 to every welfare recipient that gets a vasectomy.
