Honest apolitical question. Covid.

It is being said that the newest variant or version of Covid is more likely to be caught by those who have previously had Covid and or had the “vaccine“. How is that even possible? If one has had Covid without the vaccine, their body should naturally have built up a defense mechanism to deal. Conversely, we were told that the man-made “vaccine“ keeps us from getting or spreading Covid. Neither seems to be true whether vaccinated or not. How the hell is this little bug adapting so well that it can avoid natural or artificial defenses?
Zero conspiracy here, just asking questions. This goes against common sense, seemingly, that if one has never had Covid before they are better suited against this new version?

Dunno, but the OP seems correct regarding the recent CDC risk assessment:
quote:
BA.2.86 may be more capable of causing infection in people who have previously had COVID-19 or who have received COVID-19 vaccines.

You need to believe the science and quit being a bigot. Mask up and get your booster. Do your part.

Trump's vaccine was/is shite. All he did was give a shite ton of money to Big Pharma and they continued to frick us with a vaccine that's so effective you need 1000 boosters just for it to work.

The flu virus changes each year. The flu vaccine you took last year will not work for the flu virus this year. It’s a virus. This is what they do.

Isn't this what influenza has been doing for decades?
And arguably what makes "the flu shot" relatively ineffective?

You're obviously a luddite and, of course, a racist, Kajiu. Now, put a mask on and do as you're told.

It says "may" be.. I don't know how that could even work, unless they are just saying having covid before weakened your immune system.
Edit: I think I figured it out, they are saying it 'may be' more capable of causing infections (than previous variants) in people that have had covid or the vaccine.
Not that having covid makes you more likely to get it than people that haven't had covid.
It's lower in the link they clarify this
quote:
Immune Impacts: The large number of mutations in this variant raises concerns of greater escape from existing immunity from vaccines and previous infections compared with other recent variants.

Two separate laboratory studies concluded this week that the new variant is not more likely to infect than Omnicron. You have to dig to find the studies. Media does not like to report good news.

There's the issue. Remember what was "said" last time?
Remember back...we all knew this was coming sooner rather than later and we need to allow our "experiencing selves" (the ones that saw this in real time and made plans on how to deal with it when it happened) to over ride our current "remembering selves" (the ones that look back through rose colored glasses over time) and completely and utterly reject each and every bit of this out of hand.

Have you tried the arrows on the floor in our stores yet? They seemed to work really well last time in our fight against COVID.

It makes zero sense on the surface so I’ll go with clearing the path for more pharma subsidies (and kickbacks), fear-mongering and lockdowns.

You've started a thread that will be argued until the whistle blows at 5:00

If I'm reading the OP correctly, it seems like it targets those who have had the vaccine or virus previously more than non inoculated. That does seem a bit weird if true. The wording isn't exactly clear that is what it's saying but that's how I read it.
Covid all around is more bizarre than anything that we've experienced naturally. Even before all of the evidence of a manufactured disease, I thought there was some frickery at play with this virus.

Trump never mandated anyone take the vaccine. Not the general population.
As I said, this isn’t political.
