In a sea of OT complaints about homeowners insurance in Louisiana, I wanted to throw out there that USAA has dropped my premium for the second year in a row. When my policy renews in December, I’ll be paying $169 less than I did last year AND the coverage went up by $15k.

How’s that UPC/Lighthouse/Other shitname companies working out for y’all?

USAA came in like Kramer for me!

Everybody's situation is unique. USAA raised my yearly premium by 25%. I have made zero claims.

I don’t use USAA, mine went up like a mofo. I knew eventually I’d be subsidizing all the new roofs in my area that everyone got for no reason.

Just wait until their AI data aggregator finds this post and they discover their "mistake" and back charge you for the missed increase.

WOW!! Huge win for you. This is definitely a sign that the tide has turned in Louisiana. $169?!! Have you already booked your reservation at Applebees or are you still on the waiting list at Texas Roadhouse? Or perhaps you might be able to completely fill your tank with gas this week. So many options. Congrats!!

They went up on me one time since I’ve had them. First renewal went up about $250, second renewal went down about $70 I think, and now this one is down another $169. When everyone else is seeing huge increases each year, I call this a win.

Unless the good news is that someone built a 60,000ft high hurricane wall, we're all just one landfall away from no insurance

$169 per month? Or annual?

Too many in south Louisiana have gone up $169 to $469 per MONTH since early 2022.

I’ve always had a 1% wind/hail and all other perils deductible. I’m an agent like you so I know what I have.

No everyone qualifies for USAA so I don’t know why it’s good news. You just wanted to flex.

How about all those "coastal" properties that are 60 + miles from the gulf yet within a few miles of the lake on the Northshore.
Guess hurricanes gain strength 60 miles inland because it may cross Lake Pontchartrain.
That flood insurance was supposed to cover water, right?
