Making more money don't mean shite when everthing is more expensive than your raise. Real wages went down. The last few years has been ridiculous between, gas, goods and insurance. Everything. I dont care who you vote for.

People who HAVE to buy are buying.

People who aren’t under pressure to buy are waiting for prices or interest to go down.
There’s a whole lot of people staying in their current homes longer than they were planning to because they bought or refinanced in 2020 and don’t want to trade a sub-3% mortgage for a 6.5% one. Thats at least a couple hundred bucks a month difference, just on the interest alone.

What you’re describing is a situation where even though your income goes up the people who were below your income level also went up. The people above you went up at a level higher than you. You’re making more money but your income status and buying power isn’t improving your situation.
The USA certainly experienced a period of hyper affluence. All of the sudden what should have felt like exclusive is overrun by the average.
Only post covid had I ever found that that first class seats would sell out before main cabin. Pre covid most of the people I’d encounter in first class were frequent flyers getting upgraded because first class didn’t sell out.

pretty cool man

I just sold recently, and two/three days of cleaning with Pine Sol made the whole place smell like a vacation cabin owned by the royal family.

“Prices are ridiculously inflated” yet new construction prices are thru the roof. Y’all want existing homes to be under $150/ft when new construction is $250/ft+. It’s not going to happen, you’ll just continue to see less new construction, which in turn will drive up prices on existing homes.

The economy was “on fire” because the interest rates were low when they shouldn’t have been with much higher inflation than was being reported which led to perceived higher wages. 2.5-3% growth is barely keeping up with inflation. You don’t know what you are talking about

You’re ok with people stealing and taking advantage of you as long as you get to sleep comfortably in your warm bed and pretend everything is fine? Bc I’m not. If blowing the whole system up to make it more “for the people” and not “from the people” is what needs to happen, so be it

I could be wrong, but I think that it takes lumber and cement and steel and aluminum and heavy construction vehicles and equipment to build houses.

Where have I seen those things listed recently?

Oh yeah, they are on the list of things that we import heavily from China and Canada and the EU that are about to get a lot more expensive due to this trade war that Trump has started.

Guess those new construction costs aren't going the way anyone wants anytime soon.

You realize that imposing tariffs benefits large corporations at the expense of the "Little Guy," right?

They don't help the average middle class American, they help the corporations who want to expand their market share overseas.

You’ve been lied to. Tariffs are taxes and we will pay trillions.

BR homes will always be super inflated. They're building condos everywhere too.
