I was in my local Home Depot this weekend. Saw a woman putting a cordless drill in her "bag". I knew she was stealing. Notified a HD employee and she said she couldn't stop the woman. Said the company has a policy that employees can't intervene with shoplifters. They let the woman walk out the door. I thought the employee was full of shite but after some research she is correct.

The lady told me they hardly ever call the cops any longer unless its something over $500.

WTF?

It’s for employee safety mostly. It sucks, but it beats getting killed or beaten over property that isn’t even yours.

It's probably cheaper in the long run to let people steal a few hundred dollars worth of stuff than risk the shoplifter be armed and kill a regular employee and deal with that.

It's so employees don't sue HD if they get injured. HD corporate (and every other corporate entity) doesn't care about employee safety. They care about the liability.

thats why cops prey on affluent white people going 5mph over the speed limit rather than patrol the projects looking for people selling crack.

dont you love equal justice under the law?

Potato, tomato. The employee stays safe, they don’t have to worry about liability.

The problem would be that they'd only try and stop the black shoplifters. Even if 100% of the shoplifters were black they'd still be accused of being racists. They don't wanna be Starbucked

I think it's a great show, but to be honest, it's not for everyone. A lot of mixed reviews from people who have watched it.

It's a shame this pussy society doesn't educate the criminals this way.

Nope. Lawless criminals are a protected class in the good ole U.S. of A.
