Yeah there's a reason Monday is national cheat day. But it's also good to work chest on any day between Tuesday and Sunday.

Is something wrong with me. There's no way I could get in a major body workout multiple times per week. I'm sore for way too long. I've got a good 4 days of lingering soreness after working a muscle group. Add in working out biceps and triceps on pther days of the week and I've got either a sore chest or spaghetti noodles for arms for a good 5 or 6 days of the week.
I know you can workout through soreness, but I don't want to
you shouldn't be sore like that if you work out regularly
all it takes is skipping a week and I'm sore as shite the following week when I get back in

This guy says 2
This guy says more than 2, maybe 3-5
Guessing it all depends on who you want to look like?

that happens if you haven't worked out in a long time. when you get in a routine, the soreness tapers and then you pretty much don't get sore again unless you stop working out for a while.

Sounds like you are pounding the bro workouts too hard...try doing some other lifts besides curls and dips and bench.

Shoulder issues are pushing me towards once a week from twice a week. I've been fighting them for 6 - 7 months now and it sucks.

Never really stuck with a workout program in my life until probably May of this year. Been pretty steady averaging about 4 days week. I'm trying to increase my strength and am definitely lifting heavier/less reps (heavier is completely relative to me and not actually heavy).
Leg day always leaves me feeling sore like I've just worked out for the first time (exaggerating a little). Squats, Deadlifts, Calf Raises, Leg Curls/Extensions and my legs are spent. Usually do that in the beginning of the week and try to get a long bike ride in over the weekend. If I workout Monday, I'm sore until Thursday morning easily. I could maybe get legs in twice a week, but that would screw up my bike ride.
Chest leaves me good and sore for a good two days, and I can feel it for at least another day.
Triceps and Biceps get a lot of work on shoulder day and back day so they aren't at their strongest to try and get another chest day in.
I thought the soreness would subside as it does with running and other things I've done over time. But it still gets me. Not so bad that it's an issue. Actually feels like I got something done. But enough that it doesn't seem easy to knock out the same muscle groups several times a week.

It will hurt like a motherfricker, but rolling out your muscles helps me alot with soreness. Esp lower body. I roll out my hips, glutes, quads for about 10 mins at least 3 times a wk, and my back nearly everyday.

Most people generally do 2x a week but it kind of depends what your goal is and your style of training. The general bodybuilder/hypertrophy chest routine would be 2x a week as you are doing a bunch of reps and sets with multiple different exercises, i.e. Flat bench, incline, decline, flyes, dumbbell presses etc.
A power lifter might be able to do chest 3x a week as their volume is lower.

Do you take any supplements? I always make a protein shake in the morning and after my workout. BCAA's also help with muscle recovery.

I was just reading about soreness yesterday. The "experts" on bodybuilding.com say that you're not supposed to be sore after working out if you're following a proper diet and getting enough sleep.
My diet is right but I normally only get 5-6 hrs of sleep at night. I'm never sore after working out hard. Idk....

I hit it one day a week, and honestly not very hard. It was funny, I didn't bench press for over a year, more focusing on dips/flys and stuff, and I put up 245 a week or so ago.
I like hiking and kayaking, and I'm working on getting myself ready for backpacking over the next 6-10 months. I just don't see in my particular situation why chest would be incredibly important.

That's a crock man. If you severly break down a muscle and pump a ton of lactid acid into it, how can you not be sore?
Edit: not calling bullshite on you for not being sore, Im calling bs on the bodybuilding.com "experts" that like to hold the umbrella over certain subjects. I get very sore on the 2nd day after any specific muscle group that is targeted and it subsides by day 3 and is gone by day 4.

This pretty much sums up what I go through. Some times after a really tough workout, the legs will linger into the 4th day.
I admit to not having a strict well balanced diet. I will drink a protein shake after a workout. Accidentally ordered a BCAA supplement and have been taking that (haven't really noticed much, but it's only been like 4 workouts). And I used to take a greens supplement (this actually really helped out my digestion and I need to get back on it).

Um..I've been doing 3x am I doing something wrong-- just alternate upper and lower, now the one thing I can't figure out is how to strip that layer of fat off of your abs, no matter how much core shite I do I can't get abs like I did in HS.
If you're doing chest 3xs a week, you're not working hard enough

I believe a body part need be worked every two days (sometimes three, depends where your rest day falls).
I cannot fathom doing legs one day a week.
