All I can contribute is that is an upper level ram mirror because it has blind spot detection,they come on the Limited and Laramie for sure, uncertain about the big horn

Notice the amount of anger and outrage when this happens in this particular area? It’s a culture of responsibility. Maybe the north Baton Rouge area should take notes.
Also, if anyone is getting hit on airline that far down, guarantee you it’s someone moseying across the street give 0 fricks and expecting traffic to come to a screeching halt for them. That’s a stupid game to play yet I see it every day.

If she’s hit on the drivers side mirror it means she was walking on the left shoulder of the road next to the fast lane.

Jefferson is two lanes in this area (one lane in each direction) so there is no “fast lane”

The picture in the advocate has the mirror in it. It’s The Advocate. So it can be completely wrong.
But they are clear that it’s the passenger side mirror in the photo caption. But the article says driver’s side.
This is the mirror that was found at the scene of the hit:
This is what the 2013-2018 Ram mirror looks like. It’s definitely a passenger side mirror but it’s not the whole arm assembly that’s missing. Just the mirror inserts. The mast arm may still be on the truck.
So if you know someone who was out late with a Ram HD (2500, 3500)…take a look at their passenger side mirror to see if it’s missing parts. The whole thing may not be missing though. Just the mirror.

Ram 2500 or 3500, the mirror can fold in towards the cab or out and straight up. I’ve never seen that mirror on a 1/2 ton truck before.
eta, as the other poster said, it’s an upper line trk with the sensors on the rear taillights that indicate another vehicle in the blind spot.

Correct. Notice the picture from the mirror recovered from Jefferson Highway is only of the reflective inserts. The mast arm is not there. I presume that it may still be on the truck.
So keep your eyes out for a Ram 2500 or 3500 with missing mirror inserts on the passenger side.

I doubt the numbers on the glass will lead back to a specific vehicle, if they find plastic with numbers on it that could be a different story. Hope they catch the pos.

WBRZ says she was walking along the northbound fog line. A picture posted on Nextdoor shows the emergency vehicles somewhere along the Azalea Lakes fence from the perspective of the shitty apartments across the street. It does seem like they all could have described the location better. This is not close to Highland.

check sports bars for what?
it could have been anybody driving down the road going to and/or from anywhere
people walk down old covington highway near my house all the time at night, sometimes you can’t see them until you are right up on them. Hit and run is obviously a crime but the hit part is primarily the fault of the walker not the driver. There’s no pedestrian lane on Jefferson Highway
