I have studied the waffle house emergency plan and I haven’t seen a better plan in any business anywhere

- waffles are just one item on the menu. But they have by far the highest markup. It’s just flour. But people are willing to pay because most people don’t have a waffle iron. So name the whole place waffle house and center it around that.

Idk how true this is, but I do have a buddy who’s an exec there and he told me they lose so much money on free refill coffee that they have to make it up on other products because apparently people melt when they try to go up .10 on the coffee.

100% true

another fun fact not in the video - Chik-Fil-A chicken sandwiches were once a staple on the Waffle House menu - they sold so well that waffles were not selling; so, they were removed from the menu

This dude is probably the most entertaining quasi-historian on YouTube.

Meh, he's no Professor James O'flannery. Of course he mainly focuses on how much communism sucks.

You have be talking about Huddle House, right?

I've never been in one by it I've seen the signs and it's an obvious play off Waffle House.

No, he's talking about Omelet shoppe. Huddle House is a different place, though the three were all similar. There used to be an Omelet Shoppe in Auburn. There's a Waffle House there now.

Fat Electrician might be my favorite YouTube.

The 3 minute shorts he does on military stuff is hilarious and informative.

I've had 2 meals at Waffle House.

One was after the trip to DC for the "Stand in the Gap" with Promise Keepers in I think 1997. Our group stopped at a Waffle House at 3am and ate on the way home.
I remember that the guy running the griddle that morning looked like he was still in high school, but he was masterful at slinging those hash browns. He was a real artist, and fun to watch.

My second one was in 2017. My brother had passed away just after midnight in Hospice care near Fort Pierce Florida and my sister and I were already booked on a flight home at 6am that next morning. We left the hospice center after his body was removed, and drove down to Ft. Lauderdale. We found a Waffle House near the airport open at 3am, and I remember my sister telling the waitress what had just happened, and she sat down in the booth to help console my sister. She was an older lady, but very sweet.
