We showed the world in WWII that we were the greatest firework makers not once, but twice

Not the biggest, but definitely one of the funniest in recent memory.

Russia is infamous for trading space and bodies for time.

Napoleon fricking up was bad but Hitler doing it was worse. He actually caught the Russians off guard because their spies had no indication that the Germans were making preparations to deal with Russian winter, which worked up until they got to winter and the German offensive stalled.

History tells us that Custer should have waited for reinforcements

A long time ago (as in I cannot remember the source..) I read that the indian scouts were warning Custer to not rush into this .. Of course he blew them off and sent that back to "camp". As the scouts were riding off, the last known words from Gen Custer heard by the scouts were; "Ok boys lets get this over with so we can be home for dinner."

Russians on the wrong side of FAFO in the Russo Japanese war.

Also Mussolini's FAFO happened quicker than Hitler's.

And I think the Schlieffen plan and the Belgians qualifies.

Has to be that nuclear bomb. Hate it for the people that didn't ask for it, but war is hell.

This is what I thought too, but I just re-listened Dan Carlin's "Ghosts of the Ostfront," and he states that Stalin's spies tried to warn him of an invasion, but Stalin was so paranoid he labeled it as "misinformation," and had them killed.
