His name is Walter Palmer. His name is Walter Palmer.

I, for one, completely and unconditionally absolve Walter Palmer of any wrongdoing.
Walter Palmer paid a lot of hard-earned money for the legal right to shoot a lion.
Unbeknownst or perhaps somewhat beknownst to Walter Palmer, Walter Palmer's hunting guide helped him lure out an unfortunate choice of a locally popular lion.
Now troves of Internet tough guys and sissy babies are upset over a lion they've never heard of, would've never heard of, and didn't give a single frick about until the media identified Walter Palmer.
It's not about a dead lion. Cecil could have been a nutria or a warthog, just the same.
It's about the phony, self-loathing pent-up rage over the so-called White Privilege, as personified by Walter Palmer.
Good luck, Walter Palmer. Fight the good fight.

Yes it is.

Not so much.

This though...

did he not admit that he tried to hide the fact that he shot a collared lion?
that at least deserves some type of penalty, fine, whatever, right?

I by no means have a tough life. I am very guilty of being a white heterosexual American male. But I envy the shite out of the people who have so few problems that a cat in a country most of them couldn't spell pops up on "things I'll care about today"

That's the question. Did he know what was going on? Did he aid or abet or ignore the attempted cover-up.
If he did, it's a property crime. Do we look the other way for destruction of property in this country?

Primarily if it fits a narrative.

I feel indifferent about this as well. I do think that if the people of this country didn't want their lions killed then they shouldn't have made it legal to kill them.
I'm also sure that the people who are upset didn't mind taking this man's money when he was shopping in town.
I think the man who shot the lion should lawyer up and GO after any media company slandering his name and that's hurting his business.

Meh.
Frick Walter, frick Cecil and frick the media. The only thing that annoyed me at all about this incident was LNCHBOX and his shitty posts on the subject.

Then knowingly tried to destroy its GPS collar once they realized what they had done. That's the sign of a piece of shite, if you ask me.

I am a huge proponent of hunting. Circumstances different, I would have no issue with what happened. However, I have a huge issue if the guide knowingly allowed this particular lion to be shot. I am furious if he did it on purpose. It goes against everything hunters are working to do from a conservation and local support standpoint.
If Walter Palmer was ignorant of the circumstances, I consider him innocent and a victim of the situation. If he knew anything about this lion before shooting him, I consider him an a-hole who did real harm to what true hunting advocates are trying to accomplish worldwide.

Are you talking about Obama and PP selling body parts?

I admitted to a simple not reading of the article in my first post of that thread. Everything else I said was spot on whether you care to admit it or not.

bullshite....he knew better. You conveniently left out the fact the he already caught a felony for illegally hunting a bear in Wisconsin. Now after getting a felony, I would make sure that ANY hunt I go on or participate in is completely legal. It wasn't. He has to take responsibility for that.
Why are people on this board giving this guy the benefit of the doubt when he has already been convicted of illegal hunting. He deserves everything he is getting.
