Check out that article. It goes in to how and why they are legal to kill, but shouldnt be.
That being said, I'm not supporting Cecil, I think this guy is being slandered by the media. Is it somewhat wrong what he did? yes. But my money bets that he didnt actively lure the wrong type of lion out a preserve, that was his guides job.
That being said, he may have tried to cover it up after the fact, but who wouldnt? You paid ATLEAST 10k for this hunt just in fees, you followed instructions from a guide, and now you're getting crucified for it. It sucks for him, but I dont think much will come from it other than him being in a news for the next couple of weeks. He certainly wont be extradited to Africa.

I might agree with you if he hadn't already been caught once illegally hunting and then trying to cover his tracks...
I don't feel like blood is needed, but I have no problem with him facing prosecution for his role in all of this. I doubt he is as naive as he is trying to let on.

I don't really care about the dude killing a lion, but he still sounds like a dick with an inferiority complex. He definitely deserves everything that comes his way.
