Weather is like medicine. It's not 100%. Lighten up Francis.

Hope you stay “stuck in MS”.

Pat has done as much in 30+ yrs in BR as anyone. If not more. The Coats for Kids exceeds what is seen by the viewership.

Try some hot cocoa. You might feel better.

But I hope not.

Are you Pat's wife or his kid?

He should stick to coats because he's dogshit at weather.

No, but WBRZ downplayed the shite out of this snow when every other network, expert, and major models ALL said the potential for at least 3” was there.
Well it sounds like you’re a dildo for listening to the one organization that wasn’t on board with the forecast.

Baton Rouge is much better with Pat.

And much better without whiners like you.

Spoiled child and your first world problem. It will be ok when you get up from your nap.

You always had the option to ignore WBRZ right?

Last time I checked #SIRI was not a meteorologist, however neither is your computer-based weather app. Our app has real people behind it. It's not impossible, but the chance for mixed wintry precipitation is VERY low Friday morning.

In lieu of continuous Lloyd Christmas memes about #BatonRouge area snow, here are "chances" for snow. It's better to approach a forecast like this in probabilities rather than definitives. Most likely scenario is no accumulation, less than 25% chance of 1-2 inches | #LaWX #MsWX

#FlakeNews? Our Futurecast is getting the idea that some snow is possible along the Gulf Coast, but like us, it's not convinced that we'll have a chance of winter precipitation across our area. Pat and Josh will have more as we approach Flakey Friday

Unless that temperature goes below 32° nothing will stick to/freeze on roads; and we're forecasting mid 30s. Bridges are a potential exception--especially north of I-12. If snow does indeed fall, visibility would be reduced.

This raging thread against a genial local weather guesser brightened an otherwise shitty day. Thanks, OP.

To be fair, they don’t have much experience predicting winter weather patterns like this. I mean we get snow like this like once every 10 years.

The fact that several models had this predicted with almost certainty and people were posting it non stop on here is why WBRZ looks like such idiots in this deal.
And like the OP noted, not only were they wrong, they tried to be like pompous asses while doing it.

You need a better hobby than this. Or, maybe an actual life.

I know WBRZ's prediction was shite, but for you to think about it so much and do this is taking being a loser to a whole new level.

Has a south Louisiana snow ever been predicted correctly?

It seems like hisorically they have all been a surprise.

True but not much anymore. Most models were lining up and in agreement that we would see some snow. What makes WBRZ look bad is that the basically told everyone that these models were wrong and did it in a arrogant way.

There would have been nothing wrong just reporting the models and saying its historically unlikely. IMO I think that they bashed the models and said that it wouldn't happen because they knew the odds would be in their favor.

Well for starters, Pat Shingleton isn't even a meteorologist. So that's your fault for listening to him.

I do hope you get power back and your insurance company takes care of your house though.

Take a deep breath here - local news outlets first priority in to retain viewers. So they piece meal information out to keep the audience. That’s also why the stations will hire “hot” weather chicks...who cares if they know anything about weather... the viewers wil still watch because they look good.
In the case of Shingleton, he’s a clown but some people think he’s funny.
The days of Mike Graham and Nash Roberts, etc, are gone.
Even the Weather Channel is like that. Look at Jim Cantore’s antics.
