This coming from a millennial who actually listened to the advice of his boomer parents and has more than the average boomer has saved up in a diversified retirement portfolio including Company matches 401k, Roth IRA, and personal stocks and bond comprised retirement account.

I still believe that one of the ways to promote saving for retirement is to make any retirement accounts 100% tax free if it isn't accessed until full retirement.

Biggest cause of wage stagnation. Boomers won’t retire, businesses don’t want to invest money in training because “millenials are lazy and stuff.”
So in about 5-10 years all of the boomers are going to have to leave the work force, and all these businesses concerned with lazy millenials are going to have to provide way more training at lost productivity because they didn’t worry about transferring knowledge because “millenials are lazy”.
Except this time, millenials will be demanding premium wages because of the way they were treated in the past.

I'm a retired boomer who saved. I feel your pain. As far as I am concerned you should only get from SS what you paid in (with interest of course). If that and your savings isn't enough then you can team up with your other old friends, who didn't save, and you can all share cheap off-campus housing just like you did when you were 19.
