"They" (I blame the real Millennials) got rid of Gen Y and truncated Gen X (actually, the range in that graphic is about right, but it's dumb without Gen Y--you can't just go from Gen X straight to millennial. Doesn't work).
My understanding is that millennials are those who "grew up in the 2000s." people born in 1980 were already 20+ by then.
The millennials apparently needed to pull some Gen Yers into their misery.

Everyone bitches about the new generation. I remember growing up people bitched about Gen X. They'll be bitching about Gen Z next. Boomers parents/Grandparents bitched about that Generation too.

GenX goes through 83 at least. Boomers are 20 years and zoomers are 20 years but X is 15?
There should be overlapping bell curves used to illustrate generations.

Millenials and gen Y are the same. "Gen Y" as a term fell out of favor.

It's freaking insane how no one born in the 80s wants to be associated with Millennials.
Not even late 80s?

Millennials are the worst.

I was born in 81 and could not be further from your typical millennial.

81-96 is the standard age range for millennials used by the majority of studies and media outlets.
So congrats, you're an elder millenial.
