I have a friend that lives in a sort of small town who's good friends with the DA, he parlays getting called for jury duty into getting out of work all of the time, I don't think it would be so great if sequestered or getting called to be on El Chapo's jury, but that's just me

Everyone is guilty.

I was gone within 5 minutes of that coming out of my mouth and that was 15 years ago

Same here. I want to sit on a jury but just hanging out in the room for a couple of days not getting picked sucks. Can’t they just let people stay at home and look at Facebook to decide who to pick?

Wait for the first trustee to walk through and loudly proclaim "He looks guilty to me"

You'll be released. You'll be hit with contempt of court, but you'll be released.

I've sat on a federal jury for a low level drug case. It is both mildly interesting and really boring.

Tell them you are a sovereign citizen and are not subject to state or federal government law. You’ll be chowing down on oysters and chugging beer by lunch.

Better pay than Harris County. It is $6 a day here.

Be sure you report that income on your tax return.

do everything in your power to be the foreman. Once they vote you foreman you can make the trial go as fast or as slow as you want. I've been a juror twice and both times managed to get myself voted foreman

Tell everyone how much you just loved the new Joker movie and that he was really the victim and you completely understand where he is coming from, that is was refreshing to see someone take a stand. You'll be out of there in no time!

Everyone is a sovereign citizen. The only question is if they realize it or not.

can be a good deal where I work, we get paid for work missed, so say, you have a trip going to HKG and you get called to appear on the day that trip goes out, you get paid for the whole trip, if you get sent home a couple of hours after you show up you just get a couple of extra paid days off

Why do people always bitch about jury duty? It's free time away from work, you don't really have to do much, and you get to frick some poor person's life up.
