I used to love rolling joints. I would get bored in class and roll up little tiny scraps of paper to represent the weed and roll it up in notebook paper.

Trust me i felt the same way when it happened. We tried several avenues to get her to stop. Short of kicking her arse and going to jail there wasn't much to do.
We just tried to make sure he didn't hang out with her son outside of school, he never went back to their house unless he snuck over.
I talked to a police buddy of mine about it, his advice was just leave it alone. He told us that the police department won't do much if anything about it.
Edit. Some people just can't be reasoned with, she thought her son should be able to do what he wanted and i still think my kid should be held to a higher standard.
If i see people raising their kid different then i do mine i just keep my nose out of their business.

yeah its crazy how much things have changed. I was at a parade weekend before last and people were smoking on he route in front of the cops. even though we have medical, it is still not legal to smoke weed in public. the police dont even do shite anymore.

I wouldn’t freak completely out. His lack of focus and slipping probably has more to do with girls than a weed pen.

Yeah, it's weed.
But do tell him vaping THC is a waste. You develop a quick tolerance to the vaping and have to vape more. It's not a good delivery mechanism.
Tell your son to go to gummies or flower. Much better.

At 14 yeah, you got a little more time to scare the hell out of em, but at 17? It’s time to graduate the relationship to more adult to junior adult.
My wife and I did tons of dumb stuff but were kind, respectful, and active in school activities and sports w good friends. If my 17 year old is active, engaged and showing all signs of being a good person I can’t see going scorched earth over a dumb decision

Nobody "expects" their kids to do drugs, and you need to understand that your kids will have myriad opportunities in high school to try all kinds of things. Don't ever assume because you and your wife were good in that regard that your kids will be.
Vapes, dab pens, THC gummies, etc. can be purchased at any gas station in the city. And I can assure you that gas station attendants don't care about fake ID's any more in 2024 than they did when we were in high school.

I’d be concerned my kid might be gay if he is vaping.

Never been one to partake in it much, but I did try the edible variety and it was like Jesus came down from heaven himself to bless me.
Would recommend highly that u get ahold of some to keep in storage for a rainy day.
