Yep, meanwhile Walton County Emergency Management is simultaneously posting locations for sandbag filling stations and telling tourists, sure, come on down, just expect a bit of rain and wind.

Probably very little if it stays on its current track, unfortunately

Perhaps you and Legend would be less dyspeptic if you didn't take all this so personally. The NHC isn't going to give you a medal for knighting for them on a message board, man.

You made an asinine post. Suggesting that waking up to a 200 mile shift in track is to be expected was ignorant.

I don’t have a problem blaming the NHC when they’re wrong, but it’s the stupidity that is tougher to handle.

Yup. 11am EST advisory we will definitely have Hurricane Helene (Huh-lean). This is going to be a crazy 36 hours. People need to pay attention and get out if they are in the cone.

From an observer perspective, this is going to be absolutely amazing to watch Mother Nature build her up. I think we are going to see some unforgettable moments of formation.

Stay safe all

That’s correct. It’s amazing how a cold front can control the movement of a monster hurricane.

The inland flood and high wind threat looks pretty ominous with this storm. Not seen updated models yet, however last night, Western North Carolina and parts of the Tennessee Valley could be in in for historic flooding.

not good, not good at all.. she looks really healthy this morning, and she is huge.. tropical storm winds extend 175 miles out from the center..

all models, even the Euro, are predicting the pressure to drop big time over the next 36 hours

A good link to the visible satellite

How will the west side of the storm be? My mom, stepdad, and brother live about 100 miles west of where it’s supposed to make landfall. Should they leave? They live in a new and sturdy house (brick). Thanks weather baws.

What is the likelihood this gets pushed east and we see hurricane level winds here?
