Well, I mean...it's a TS or low 1 at this point.
Also, Cancun is on the weak side

I’ve got family in the Atlanta Metro area, should I tell them anything in particular. I know there will be a lot of rain, but what about wind?
I’d be concerned about large pine trees coming down.
Last storm that brought TS winds into metro Atlanta where I live was Irma. Knocked down about 10 pines on my property - fortunately all were in the woods and didn’t block driveway or hit house.

I’m not doubting anything you guys have said about it going across the gulf. Just letting you know how it was in Mexico. I apologize and will let you carry on.

We are doing minor prep and getting the basement bedroom ready, not sure what else you can do with 130 ft trees by the dozen on every lot.
I'm in the same boat in Cobb County. Completely surrounded by huge trees

I’m about 3miles off the bay here in Tampa in a Evac zone A. They just issued the mandatory evacuation notice at 0830 our time.
My area floods pretty easy. Once it starts raining decent you’re not getting anywhere. I’m still waiting to see if if shifts at all in the gulf at this point.

This. Unfortunately, there will be a lot of rain, starting today, before the winds really pick up, which makes it much easier for trees to fall over, especially ones that are on hills (which a lot are in Atlanta lol).

Nobody is upset, friend. Just pointing things out.

Inland, trees are the biggest issue imo. I don't think they will be snapping in Atlanta, but they might get uprooted.. so if trees are on one side of the house, stay on the other side of the house..
Get a bunch of water and canned goods for the whole house to be able to eat for a week if all power goes out.. Buy some candles and a lighter.. and/or some led lights that are battery powered.. A battery powered radio can be useful as well.
Fill up the gas tank. Get some cash out of the bank.
If they are in a low lying area or near a creek/river, then that might present different issues..

Cone is pretty narrow. I don't think if will shift much. Better not get caught with your pants down. Better get out while the gettin' is good.

Yesterday she was the size of Florida. Today her size is bigger than Texas now. I can’t get over all those bands around her.

Now, unless the little girl from one of the other threads has hammered all the beers, tell your dad to grab a few and enjoy the show!
