NHC has been infallible the past several years. They are calling for a major at landfall.

Helene looks like its going to be a very large hurricane. It's definitely starting to get some center rotation and it's going to suck watching her getting closer to Florida. All my west coast Floridians stay safe and get the hell out of dodge if you are in the path. Prayers

New GFS run shows no change in track or timing but pressure is deeper at 955 MB from 966 previous. And the position with 955 MB is slightly inalnd so the landfall pressure could be even lower than 955.

I’m north east of Tallahassee. I have 2 houses here and a business. I also have a family and young kids. Everyone in this area knows what the frick is going on. If it gets bad enough I’m going to Pensacola. I would ride it out if I was solo. Wife has vetoed that. This area has been fricked the last few years. Everyone understands hurricanes here.

The anguish you feel is appropriate and 100% understandable. I am sorry for what may be ahead for you and your family. We in Louisiana know this awful feeling well.

Please also know we will be thinking of you and yours, and everyone in Florida impacted by this terrible storm. Our spirit is with you all.

God Speed and Good Luck.

You're entitled to your opinion. It means nothing to me. FWIW I don't have an opinion of you one way or another-never gave it enough thought to have one. This is an entertainment site to me,nothing more or less.

Perhaps you and Legend would be less dyspeptic if you didn't take all this so personally. The NHC isn't going to give you a medal for knighting for them on a message board, man.

5am advisory…she’s getting close. Next Advisory might be Hurricane Helene. Don’t like the Westward push…landfall getting closer to more populated areas and more impact for Tallahassee and east side of storm over Atlanta metro. I really hope people start paying attention this morning. Shits getting real

I'm in gulf county near St Joe. I believe the final tally on trees was just shy of three million acres of pines lost. Still droopers everywhere around here

So this thing is going to hover over the Kentucky/Tennessee border for 24 hours? That is going to be a crap ton of rain there.

To my untrained eye it looks on IR like the center is staying just off the Yucatan
