Atlanta is going to be getting a combination of the front and then Helen throughout the day Thursday. Weather will be shitty regardless. Check the travel board thread for options.

2) she's starting to fire off storms to the west and south. Shear was knocking down the storm clouds but that's easing so convection should start filling in and wrapping up this afternoon and tonight

I can’t understand it.
Now the eye looks to be going right beside them at 8 tomorrow morning.
I might over complicate my life out of caution, but times like this make me not understand basic thoughts people have.

Atlanta is either going to get shite on with rain, or not. It's basically in the fringe western side of a potentially lopsided system. The trough is going to help it produce a lot of rain. If the track changes and it ends up coming in further east, Atlanta will get minimal rain.
On the current track, you gone get rain... and plenty of it. And some gusts.

The ridge to the E/NE not being as pronounced. The models tend to overdo the strength on ridges.
