If any debt that needs to be “erased” without paying anyone back, it’s to medical companies. They’re so stacked with cash, it’ll hurt for a minute. They’ll claim it’ll make prices go up even higher, but I would bet that excuse is a front so they don’t lose their cash cow in a broken insurance/medical system that they benefit from…..I have no answers on how to fix it. But it most definitely has to be fixed one way or another.
If you think getting the government more involved in medical care will make prices go down or make the healthcare more efficient then the only thing to say to you is you are a fricking retard.

t.
Yep this seems like a pretty typical politician move….She’ll get political points for appearing to fight for the down trodden, but it’s really just a move to get money into the hands of her donors. Those unpaid bills weren’t getting paid so really not a big relief to those that will get it.
and do we think it was Helena that found this little clause in the Relief act? No I would bet it was an attorney for one of the hospitals.

Follow the money, who is contributing to Moreno’s campaign: big hospitals that control medical care and local doctors or the scum bag debt collectors that buy this debt.

I’ll agree to this IF…
A video exists of a passionate tryst between Helena & Rita LeBlanc Benson (circa 2006) and it is also shared with us tax payers to enjoy.

Why should that matter?

I literally said “I don’t have an answer,” but there’s nothing wrong about having the discussion. Everyone knows that US politicians are scumbag thieves, but you’re also a “fricking retard” if you believe the system is totally fine at this point.
The reality is that if there were going to be reform, it would be the government heading it up. Maybe introduce a health tax and health tax alone to pay for medical bills for the country. Maybe each state pays for their own healthcare…. I have no idea, but you have to discuss it to actually do something about it. Because it’s broke af, and to deny that is just being obtuse.

What/who will be forgiven? Charge offs don't matter. Maybe tackle why people use the NOLA ER as their PCP.

Well, crap! I worked to pay for my college tuition for 5 years (yeh, I had some fun the 1st 2). Got a decent job then incurred about 10 grand in medical bills a few years later. Ended up paying them all off after collections got to me. Now all of this is going to end up being free in today's society.
I can't fricking win!

I don’t think this is near the big deal this website is making it out to be, but that’s standard for this place.
I have my skepticisms about Moreno, but this issue isn’t one of the reasons.
To those saying she should be worried about the crime, I think she understands that. She’s talking about a small % of funding to do this.

New Orleans roads are worse than third world - really closer to a lunar landscape. City government is failing at every level. Crime is out of control. City government is hostile to business. NOPD are a shadow of its former self. Now Helena wants to give our money away. She's pandering for votes that she will never get. She will never be mayor. She's a rabid gun grabber (i.e. she know's NOPD likely aren't going to help you, and she does not want you to have the ability protect yourself).
In short, can't take her seriously.

She gotta do something to get black people to vote for her for mayor.

I dont support it, but I'll be the devil's advocate. People with MS, ALS, childhood diseases, Parkinson's, etc should absolutely be first on the list. People who practiced bad habits should be ignored.
I would love to see who receive this money if it happens.

The people who made bad decisions will get the money. That’s the only way it has ever worked. Anyone who supports this because they think it will actually help people in need should get in line for a a CAT scan or just go back to wearing a helmet while you draw in coloring books. And yes, I’m mostly talking about the implanted white women and Tulane grads, some of the most retarded people on the planet.

Not that wise when the streets are flooded and yo get car jacked on the way to the hospital.

So all the doctors will move. Good job, guys.

Any medical provider that says medicare and medicaid is unprofitable is simply lying or very poorly managed.
In states like Louisiana and Mississippi those two programs are the sources of 70% of their revenues.
The billing and write off systems that have developed since medicare went pay by service is complex and convoluted but at the end of the day it is profitable.
