Yes, absolutely full of shite.
That stuff doesn't affect you at all.
Besides, if everyone played optimal strategy, the casinos wouldn't even have blackjack tables because the profits are too slim. So the novice at the table is indirectly subsidizing your fun. You should appreciate them.

Sounds like you sat next to my wife (no pics) because she does that shite sitting next to me and I'm like WTF. However she gets up a couple hundred and quits. I've never seen her lose by the end of the night. She loses early but comes back and wins. Where as I play closer to the "book" way and lose more than I win.

I've always thought that the trashiness of BR casinos goes north to south. Hollywood being the trashiest, then Belle, then L'Auberge.
Granted I haven't been to any of them in 10 years, so ymmv, lol.

I've only been to L'auberge a few times, but I've never seen $5 blackjack. Hell on the weekends I don't think they even have $10 blackjack.

I played in Vina Del Mar in Chile recently and was surprised at the play by my tablemates. They wouldn't hit 15 or 16 at all, yet they hit on 13 vs 6.
