Likewise. By the time I loosen up on alcohol it’s too late to ignore intuition and gamble.

So when everyone says “it messes up the deck and the way cards come out”, they are full of shite?
They just do not know what they are talking about. The smartest players in the world have written about this over and over. It has no mathematical impact. If a true count or running count is +4 or more it may actually be advantageous to split tens.
If it makes you unhappy then you should get up and leave. If you only play $25 and higher then you can find other tables. If you are letting emotions determine play anyway, then I suppose odds do not matter to you.

I never drink at casinos. I know they want you to drink because you are more likely to make worse decisions, but I swear whatever you order, its stronger than anywhere else you will get it.
Like if you order a corona, it will be stronger than the corona you will order at a restaurant down the road. It might be in my head, but the few times I have had drinks at casinos, it just seems stronger.

A card counter might hit stiffs and stand on 15 and 16 against 7 thru 10. With information on the deck composition that may be the correct way to play.
An idiot might incorrectly do the same, but in either case, the way those people play makes no difference to the other players' results in the long run.

Yea well what if they hit on a 13 and draw a 5? And then the dealer draws a 10 on his bust card. Or what if you are sitting on 10, and the guy in front of you splits his 10s and draws two 5s.
Worrying about that is the first step to losing concentration and losing money. Sometimes others' stupid moves will help your cards; sometimes they won't. Doesn't make any difference in the long run.

It's more probable that the 13 player will draw a 10 than anything else. Let the dealer take that risk.

In one full deck of cards there are 16 cards with a value of 10, and 36 cards of other values. It is 2.25 times more likely that you will draw a card that is not a 10.

I don’t have this problem at the high roller tables

Then you keep hitting on those numbers when the dealer is showing 13-16, see how it works out for you.
But do all of us a favor and don't play 3rd base when you do it.

Done properly, it's the correct way to play

You would have had me had you stuck with mixed drinks. How exactly would a place spike a bottle of beer?

Exactly. Although the preferred term is an advatage player because Card counter is a curse word to Griffen.
