40,000 years..... actually hard to wrap your head around that, seeing something around that long ago so well preserved. Time is a circle or some shite. Wow.

Two things: this would be a dire wolf and not a giant wolf

And

Don't trust everything that comes out of Russia. They've made seemingly true fossil claims before.

I don't know if this specimen is 40,000 years old, but Dire wolves were only slightly heavier than modern Gray Wolves.
