When I married my kids’ dad, his grandmother gifted us with a term life insurance policy…..with her as a beneficiary.

A "friend" gave me a 25% off coupon for his business. On top of that nonsense, it expired in just over a week AND it was a coupon that he sent out to the general public in one of those coupon mailers you get as junk mail.

I got a VHS tape with Saturday morning cartoons recorded from an Aunt and Uncle. Also received Hit Stix three years in a row from another Aunt and Uncle. I always thought that they must have bought them in bulk one year and kept handing them out.

When I was still living at home, Dad would buy me tools to replace his that were either lost or broken (some of them by me so I'm not saying I didn't deserve it on occasion).

The "User Agreement" on these "gifts" was "This house is not a democracy" & "Life isn't fair"... As such, I was not allowed to retain ownership of said tools once reaching adulthood.

When I was a an early teen kid, my oldest sister gifted me an album from one of my most hated bands, Kiss.

Not just an album but a three album set. I listened to that shite so she would not feel bad.

My godfather always spoiled me with gifts since he didn't have any kids and made good money. One year for Christmas, I got a Lite Brite that wasn't even in a box and had the name Eric written on the bottom of it. That's not my name. It also had a 25 cent sticker on it.

Years later, I found out he lost his job so he couldn't really afford to get me a gift.

You're such a weirdo, but at least this is different than your usual "hubby".

I don’t have any time that’s my own. I have no time for hobbies or anything. I am either working or I’m being a parent or husband. Not healthy but that’s reality for me right now.

Someone gave me a very advanced model car that looks cool, but I have no idea when I will be able to build it.

Do some consulting with a company based in Idaho Falls, ID and the owner of that company has a HUGE potato plantation. Every October or so I get a 50 pound box of potatoes from them. That is great, who doesn't like a good potato??? Trouble is that of the 50 pounds 45 will be seriously rotten by the time they get to me...I assume they have been in a warehouse since last season but it may be that they just lose about 90% every year, who knows, but the stench is overwhelming and I have to deal with 45 pounds of seriously rotten potatoes!
