Never had a clue til the story broke. Always said he was from Austria, and had a fondness for European cars. BMW, Opel and 1 other car. He was retired when they came and arrested him. Deported him for falsifying immigration records.
Stood trial, as there were still 2 survivors of the forced march. He was a dog handler & claimed he never killed anyone. Both witness' identified him from the march but couldn't say for sure he shot someone.
Was found not guilty, Germany banned him from the country. When he flew back to the USA was detained at customs and not allowed back in. Spent the rest of his life in Vancouver BC.
Side note at work in the lunch after all this went down there was a board where employees could post things for sale, wanted etc.
Someone made a for sale sign, German Shepherd puppies for sale. And put his name on the flyer.

David Puryear ran with our group of neighborhood kids near Glen Oaks. He always seemed a little different. Charged in 1984. Stalking, rape, mutilation and murder. All in front of the two young kids.

Polly Pastori used to take dance classes with me when I was in my early 20s.
Her boyfriend, John Morgan, used to come and watch us. He was very creepy.
She was nice - she was older than the rest of us but didn’t really act like it.
He killed her sometime in 2002.

Chris Rebstock was in my home room class in HS. A weasley dude that sat in front of me the day the cops took him. Killed his sister’s best friend and stuffed the body in a playhouse in his back yard.
Had a good friend go to his ex gf’’s apartment, have shoot out with cops, shoot and kill GF and then shoot himself. Still have a hard time coming to grips that he was a murderer.
Knew another guy who was speeding down St Charles, lost control and ran over lamp post. Post punctured and ignited gas tank, burned 4 people alive. Guy was a train wreck and unfortunately killed 3 additional people besides himself.
Guy I still see around to this day shot someone in the head with a deer rifle. Was down the street waiting on a group of guys leaving a function. Took his rifle out of the case and “supposedly “ dropped it and it went off. Killed a guy 50-100 yards away. No jail time.

My neighbor killed a guy in a drug deal.
A guy that I knew and had a altercation with when he trespassed kill a friend of his in the guys front yard ard.
And my cousin was a Black Widow type. Killed a few husbands. Think there's a movie about her.

Was deployed with these two. Had a good friendship with Britney during it until she started messing around with Robby.
He was light of the event, goofy, class clown type of guy. His personality drew people to him. I still have a random video that pops up on my social media every year of him thinking he could do a backflip off a t-wall and landing on his arse.

Guy I went to high school with died on Death Row before he could be executed.

Couple of my friends were SAE at Ole Miss. I met him in passing a few times, I think he was from Germantown. Surreal thing all around.
Not sure if I would call him a murderer though. State tried that, but was rightfully convicted of manslaughter. Made a bad, drunken choice. Hardly premeditated.

Yep. Went to school and graduated next to a guy that wound up killing his wife - he's on death row in Angola now.

Danny Rollins the UF serial killer from Shreveport asked a coworker of mine if she wanted to take a ride on his motorcycle outside of Superior Grill. She said he was creepy and she hard passed.

You would not believe me if I told you how many murder victims and murderers I have known. You seriously would not believe me if I told you.
Here are a few that stand out.
I had a paternal relative who was a kingpin in the moonshine rackets back in thje 50s and 60s. He bought his way out of the two killings that the law knew about. He never served a day or even went to trial. He never killed an innocent person. It was nothing personal, just business. Like the mafia.
I had a good friend that killed a man on a bar parking lot in Atlanta while in a fight. He got away with it. About 6 months later he saw a black guy that had acosted his wife on the street. He had swore he was going to kill this guy. He shot him in the heart on the spot. He received a 32 year sentence. There were signs. When we were kids 10 or 12 years old, another friend's grandfather said, "that boy is a murder waiting to happen."
He was great guy, until he got mad. When he was mad his eyes would turn solid black. It was literally like looking into the face of Satan. He would have a look of pure evil that came over his face. On top of the people he killed, he seriously hurt some people. He was handy to have around if a fight broke out. Not that he was such a great fighter. He was just evil mean, and wouldn't hesitate to use anything available to inflict great bodily harm.
I have always said, badasses don't live very long. They run into a mean son of a bitch and get killed. Mean will beat tough and skilled every time.
Another good friend killed 3 people that the law knew about. He served a total of 8½ years for two of them that were connected. He shot one in the mouth in a bar, and was released on bond. He lured the other to his apartment for a drink. He shot him under the chin with a .45. They along with another guy had jumped him. Two held him and one cut him up with a broken beer bottle. He never quit looking for the third man.
The other person he killed was a snitch who tried to kill him with a gun after they were exposed as an informant. He got the gun away and then strangled them with a telephone cord. He was in a motorcycle club and the snitch sent several members to prison.
There were others. He qualified as a serial killer, but he never killed an innocent person. The kind of people he killed were the ones you are glad they are dead.
He had been married 9 times, yes...NINE. He had the name of every single one of them tattooed on his body. Ironically, one of his wives was a corrections officer.

Yes but I wouldn't put them in the same category of domestic violence perpetrators or trans psycho mass shooters.
My understanding is that it was always about some kind of business dispute or retaliatory violence.
