I'm the mom that yells at them as soon as I see them and follows them to the house they get out at. I tell them I'm calling the police and I do.
Yep, just call me Karen. I have yelled at plenty kids driving. I have stood in the street before they were going that fast. I have thrown whatever I had in my hand at them. Maybe I'll get the pew pew at me someday. Call me Karen.

Be prepared for the police to do absolutely nothing about it. I live on the same street as the mayor and a state trooper and as soon as people turn down our road, it's like Nascar. Speed limit is 25 but there are a ton of cars doing 50+ daily. I don't even let my teenagers check the mail.
Multiple residents down our road have reported it. The police do not care. I've ever offered for them to park in my driveway which they would be hidden by trees and they could write 10+ per day. They don't care.

Follow him home and drive even faster in front of his house. If this doesn't work, go cut some donuts in his yard. A ;last resort would be to take a dump on the driver's seat of his truck.
I don't have neighbors so my solutions could be a tad extreme.

Some meat head 30ish year old guy followed my (at the time) 16 year old son home. He called me when he was halfway home and was about to piss his pants because the guy was trying to force him off the road. I told him to come home and go inside while I met the guy in the driveway. I pointed a 12 gauge shotgun at his face and he quickly apologized for bothering me. I told him that I don’t call cops but he was more than welcome to if he felt like a victim.

I would tell them that you really don't care how they drive outside of your neighborhood but in the neighborhood they need to follow the speed limit as there are kids in the neighborhood.
If that does nothing call the cops.

Film them doing it. Get their license plate. Call a sheriff and file a report.
That’s the proper course of action. It all depends on the type of town. Is it a small town where you know people at the sheriffs office?

Had people confront me in high school speeding through the neighborhood. I’d just cuss them out. They would threaten to call police.

I put a camera from Amazon out ten years ago that you could buy then that took measurements (had radar) and hired a local lawyer to speak at the open city council meeting and present my displeasure once upon a time.
Got speed limit signs put in place and enforcement for a time it worked.

People in my old neighborhood used to call cops with license plate and they would go visit them. I lived next to "the Karen" and she did all the hard work as in reporting people. Basically go find vehicle and write down lic plate numbers. Cops go and tell Mr Z21 they are speeding and tell them to slow down without telling who complained. I know bc she reported one of my kids many years ago. They never said who complained but I knew bc she told me about others she reported. I lived in a 200 home subdv in a smaller city. That's the easiest way.

Call the sheriff and request a couple motorcycle cops to run radar from your driveway. It’s what I did and it worked for a period of time. Most of our speeders are women in Tahoe’s that don’t manage time.

Had a kid get killed in my neighborhood in the late 70s. We heard a ton of sirens going down a street a couple streets down. A group of us were on our bikes and we booked it to where the sirens went.
We came upon the scene. Teenager was speeding around and hit the kid. Kid was in the street as the paramedics were trying to save him but it was too late. Parents were outside hoping against hope and it was bad. Blood in the street and gutter. Mother and Father losing their minds (rightfully so) and their child dead on the street.
Cops had the speeding teenager in a cruiser. Don’t know what happened to him criminal wise.
They got the kid in the ambulance and sped off I guess to see if there was a chance at a proper hospital somehow. The father ran to his car and left to follow. He was so distraught he did even hear his wife screaming to stop so she could get in the car.
If you’ve ever seen Mystic River with Sean Penn when they find his daughter, that’s about the level of intensity and raw emotion I saw as a kid on a bike. I can remember it all clearly in my mind.

quote:my husband did this the other day - the guy stopped, got out, and yelled ‘imma kick your arse.’
I'll usually step out towards the street as they're coming speeding down
My husband took off his chef’s jacket and took one step towards the car and the guy jumped back in and drove off.
He hasn’t come back down our street

Karens were made for this. Seriously. Post this on your Facebook or NextDoor neighborhood group, and watch them assemble and publicly shame your neighbor with the bad-boy fetish.
