I won't ever be one. Too much headache. My wife has been a couple times but I refuse to ever do it. My wife has spent more time and money on a wedding that she is in this weekend than ours. Bridal shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, wedding day etc. It's best to avoid all that garbage.
Getting married in Tennessee for $500 is alot better than wasting months of time and spending $20k for 3 hours of fun

Too much headache to be in a wedding.

You're a solid friend.

So if a friend asked you would tell them no? Or the more likely you just don't have any friends that would ever ask?

So a family member or good friend asks and you'll say no it's not worth the $?

I wouldn't want to attend that wedding either if that's the budget.

If a friend asks you to participate in one of the most important days of their life you're going to say no? Damn son

"Hey Mike, would you be one of my groomsmen?"
"No, too much of a headache."
"Uh..."

Just admit the real reason. Acceptance is the first step:

You have to wear a tux, show up, and stand where you're told. Monkeys can do that.

Half these people will be divorced in less than 5 years. A quick wedding in the smokies has lasted 17 years for me. Don't need a $20k magical wedding

Best Man - 3 times.

Groomsman / Usher - 4 times.

Always a blast. You sound like a stick in the mud and probably not very fun to be around.

Enjoy the 3rd re-watch of X-Files.

I’ve been in 15 or so and my wife about the same. Always had a blast.
